Level 14 25k turns? If you want to improve your wizard play, take a look at the turn challenge games/replays. You can easily reach level 13 in 2k turns, then get books in the ID and herbs in the CoC withing something like 8k turns. (then raid darkforge for some good items, then the amw etc.).

Getting powerful fast and avoiding unneeded battles (by playing a short game or turn challenge) really helps avoiding stupid deaths like this.

Rndm doesn't go in for the super scummy stuff. Besides,
that would have just made his MM spell even more powerful : )

I don't. The worst I'll do is sit in one place waiting for herbs to grow(which, coincidentally, is why so many turns have passed). If I got teleportitis somehow and have no other means of teleport control I may hop between ID:3 and ID:4 for blink dogs, but that's about it.
