No clue really how to present this, but...
Impale had a rocky start, from accidentally getting cursed and doomed in UD2, to being between two disarmers on UD4. After this, Impale found a Sword of Sharpness and Eternium Tower shield. In the HMC, Impale found the Sapphire amulet and an AoLS, since she was already cursed/doomed she almost decided to steal it. However, she noticed the first didn't have a price, while the second did. She had killed a Stone Giant Lord in the shop, and it had dropped the sapphire amulet. Impale absconded with the sapphire, and later returned to purchase the AoLS for a dying sage.
At this point, she sat back and farmed herbs for a crowning, whereupon she was blessed with the Vanquisher, at level 14 or so. This was the first two handed sword she had gotten until this point, althought she was excited, she decided to wait another level before stomping through the pyramid like it was already cleared.
From there, not much interesting happened, because she was apparently focused enough to miss half the artifacts on this list, though that may be due to finding three greater Undead vaults, all packed with Master and Emperor Liches.
A few other things she considers highlights would be never actually casting a spell, relying solely on wands and scrolls, even though she did find a book of Teleportation and had learned it from a wand of wonder, she never really had the PP to cast it effectively, so one could say Impale was a friend to the beggars.
As a friend to cats, she never killed or injured a cat, feeling them a kindered spirit, as her cat had died before she left for the chain, and the thought of killing one drove her mad. Her kindness was rewarded with a small catseye ring, which she never took off.
The other highlight would be her clearing an Ancient Black Dragon Vault on D47, where she finally acquired a Wand of Wishing. In the name of overpreparedness, she wished for three sets of scrolls of chaos resistance, one set of scrolls of peace, and one set of potions of ultra healing, as a random stonefall trap in the earth temple decided to crush six out of eight in one hit.
All bosses except Fisty were dealt with via cursed potions of invisibility/potions of blindness with shots of poison wands, then a flurry of swings from Vanquisher. Although they were easy, the mana and air temples were challenging due to her lack of any real area damage spells, leading to her slowly wading her invisible way through hordes of summoned enemies.
Before entering the frictionless plane, Impale decided to farm potions of water, to bless most of her gear, wandering back and forth between two staircases in a strange dungeon. After ensuring that her most important gear was protected, she descended into the frictionless planes, throwing sis and whatever potions she had on hand, which resulted in her finding the Jet Black Battle Axe from an impressed god.
In D:50 itself, she found that the walls were undiggable, and tried to teleport near the levels, which only succeeded altering all the Balors to her plan. Slogging through the Balors, she proceeded to gain a level per kill, until tangling with the boss Balor, Fistanarius, understandably panicked, seeing as she her health was in shambles, she quaffed a potion of ultra healing and went swinging back into the fight with him. The fight was brutal, and her adamantium girdle was lost in the battle, but Fistanrius fell, boosting her from level 45 to level 50. After this, D:50 cleared easily, and both levers were destroyed with a Wand of Destruction pilfered from a Chaos Wizard.
And yes, I was overprepared and pretty into my first win, but I still managed to miss a few artifacts, not use a few potions and generally mess things up, but I still managed to eek out a win based on my massive melee power and not half bad ranged attack.
FLG in next post, feel free to laugh at it.
EDIT: Or not, my FLG is over 36k characters, and I don't feel like 4x posting
