The necros touch of death skill is awesome:)
you absorb life from the enemy and it turns into HP or PP or both, depending on what you need.
the necros awesome 1d3 attack doesn't do much but if one is starting with a ring of damage it should be fairly easy.
Went for L+ (corruption resistance, since I planned on playing after gate close)
and got hammerhead as crowning.. useful but pretty shit..
Had to use amulet of order and sac gold to stay L.(lvl25 class power brings you down to C- pretty fast)
found a greater fire vault on lvl 35 something with about 10 or more (ancient)Wyrms which I frost bolted.
went from lvl 21 to 48 in one vault:p after that everything was child's play.
All and all I got 7 corruptions. (this included fetching the medal, crown and sceptre of chaos afterwards)
Tried the Necros lvl50 class power a few times, and wore the crown of science through the whole game since I got it..
"he was doomed(enhanced through item(s))"
"he was cursed(enhanced through item(s))"

Finally I died due to teleport fail, ended up in a dark room getting eaten right away(and didn't have the hammerhead equipped which would have brought my toughnes over 10.)
Again no flg, I always just skip the ending text:p
