Leveling up

I remember reading in the guidebook that certain races and classes take different experience amounts to level up, and not just the gnome *.75 human *.8 troll *2.5 stuff. I, being bored with being severely under leveled, want to play a class/race combination that can level up quickly. What are the classes/races which require less experience?

bard, farmer, merchant, hurthling, gnome
99% of xp is from 1% of mobs. if you are
under levelled, that means you aren't killing
the juiciest mobs.

Merchants/farmers are, IMHO, the most boring classes - no good lvl powers (druid!) and big troubles with killing mobs (getting exp).
