Candle-born doomed beasty. Game went surprisingly smooth, all things considered... did druid quest, puppy cave until I hit a river, then headed for CoC. Got -Para from a pool, which I consider to be, by far, the most important intrinisic (except for doom, of course). Found useful herbs on D:9, DT on D:11. Thrundarr quest was a giant rat or something. Got literacy, raided Darkforge for crown of science, wyrmlance, some armor, and quicksilver staff (I did actually use the staff a few times). Did UD and found a wish, which I decided to use to save Khelly. Pyramid, Griffyard. Almost got myself killed fighting Nonnak and Griff, but managed a daring escape. Dove to wall of flames, cleared Water. Scary moment when I opened a threat room in DH full of freaking Doppleganger Kings. Quicksilver staff saved the day. Did ToEF with CoS + pot of wonder + fists. Missile skill never got high enough to be any good against the big mobs. Did a quick high kings run, but didn't have enough cold charges to make it across, but I had over 300 HP, so I could take one step on red water, grab the ring, w5 for awhile to heal, then walk back. Casino held Preserver and a few other goodies. Robbed it, then ended up killing shopkeeper for the experience. Added cat lord to kill list. Dove looking for greater vaults...

Found one on D:46--fire creatures with 12 great red wyrms. I was level 29 or so, and I could see black tome and RoR in the vault. Cleared the outside monsters (drakes, elementals, lizards, babies), then used a writing set to write 4 scrolls of charging, and put about 40 charges into a blessed wand of cold. Opened the dragons and started blasting. Well, not really. Blast once, first aid 6 times until confusion clears, repeat. I did end up clearing it all though, gaining at least 10 levels in the process. Probably would have got more, but I had 170+ speed at the time, plus whatever bonus I was getting from constant fire breath. By the time I was done, I had about 10 corruptions, mostly good, on, and just picked up apish, which I wanted to keep. Decided best course was to do Mana right away before Wi got raped. Managed to pull archmage out of the temple, and did pot of wonder + fists to finish him off, levelling to 48 in the process. Cleared the other two temples on the way out, got unicorn cleansing and dove to D:50. Cleared the front area with the chaos mutants and jellies, but my ring of invis ahd apparently gotten destroyed at some point, so I didn't have a way to safely deal with an army of ghost lords. Used :S class power and a couple pots of invis to hit the levers, and escaped for the win.

Do these doomed games mean intrinsically doomed the entire game? Is the CoS just to show us you can double doomed?

Very impressive. You should try a doomed ultra, just be undoomed intrinsically from MT to chaos gate, then eat cute puppy corpse. It could be done, but it would take a lot of tries.

At the start of each game, I pray ~14 times until I get doomed by deity. Ideally, I keep that status through the entire game. If I lose it accidentally, generally by a pool, then I pray again and redoom. So this PC has been doomed for all but the 25 or so turns it takes to walk to Terinyo and pray. Dooming with CoS does stack with natural dooming, but the benefits of the CoS are too good to pass up unless a really good helm (basically crown of leadership) comes along.

I was thinking about a doomed ultra. Maybe with the wizard I'll try it. Problem mostly is that I need to find an early wish, and can't use pools to do it, so if the RNG isn't feeling generous, I'm pretty screwed. Crowning and endpoint are a problem too, but I had considered doing something similar to what you had suggested.

Make it a hurthling wizard so you can cook some karmic lizards to carry with you to D50.

Of course, it would be cool to see corruption for a doomed, post day 90, crowned chaotic PC. I really do not see it being possible unless it is ULE.

Wizard would pretty much be required. EM level could be a potential killer. And you would have to hope that the GL is not dumb and never give you the weird tome.
