I think that anyone should avoid a greater undead vault, because of the stat-draining, and you're a drakeling, who should avoid the aging too. But being level 25 you should be able to take care of the mixed tension room which is, if i can see well, unavoidable, if you want to descend.

Anyway, this is good character, I hope you'll win :)

I don't think you can take down the vault. Without invisibility (potion is not enough) ghost will age you to death. Maybe with a ring/cloak of invisibility you could kill the monsters in the outer vault, as you could attack them with missiles and execute them with RCT, but you have no chance aganist those emperor liches. I wouldn't even attack them (on D:46 they're extremely tough!) with a L50 HE archer with Sun's Messenger and lots of blessed arrows of penetration...

Maybe the mixed tension could be a problem as well for you. If I saw well (propably not, the image wasn't really clean), there is some kind of karmic dragon and a shadow wyrm in it. Maybe an ice vortex as well. These can slow you quite easily. Shadow wyrms are pretty dangerous since they can summon hordes of shadows (=strength drain) and they breath cold. I'd bless that crystal of knowledge, 'U'se it near the door, and use the blessed pickaxe to cut a path to avoid it. You have scrolls of repair as well, so it won't be a big problem for you.

Shows one of two things. Either you never played an archer, or you never had sun messenger. A level 25 archer is capable of one shooting pretty much any lich. And is 100% certain to two shot them. They don't get the time to advance enough to be a problem.

Avoid the undead vault of course, but I don't think you could go very wrong taking your chances with the tension room. Just stand on the stairs or in another relatively safe place, and destroy everything with those rapin' scurgari of yours. Leave the blessed missiles for the undead. If there is trouble (you get slowed, swamped, etc.) you can get upstairs, clean house and go down again. The wyrm is offensively dangerous (not so much in terms of HP damage dealt, but rather because of the summons, the cold breath and this---->), and must not be engaged in melee since unlike other shadows, he will age you (discovered this with an orc, who got to old with that... nasty) but with the blessed scurgari of returning, once you have a clear shot he's a wimp. If the vortex poses trouble you can always retreat to thaw yourself out, and a karmic dragon is no match for an archer. If there is something that goes down with great difficulty, lure it up when it is next to you so that you don't give other monsters time to advance.

(Of course, if you could provide a better pic, maybe - then we could analyze the situation even better.)

My first win (ULE) was a HE archer, with Sun's Messenger. I ran into an emperor lich on BDC:1, which summoned master liches, which summoned various undeads. Survived, but had a hard time killing them. And she was about L40. The situation got nasty when a wererat appeared in my back, so hit and run became a bit complicated. If you are sure, you can run away from them after shooting tons of arrows on them, you can try it. Just be sure they won't catch you.

I ran into an emperor lich on BDC:1, which summoned master liches,
Blue dragon caves. but you got unlucky with the summoning. Emperor liches with a corridor are trivial for most archers, imo.

Clear the tension room. Shouldn't be an issue.

Go to a safer level and dig out all the walls with a pickaxe. Smith your gear with any of the ore if you want. Then put the biggest stack of rocks into your missiles and your cool sling into your missile weapon. Return to vault. Equip your cloak of invisibility and clear out the entire outer vault. Then open the sucker and clear out the bastards in the middle.

This will take a long time but you will kick major ass doing it. It will be a lot faster and safer than any other melee character attempting it.

will strike tension first, greater titan, ghost king, greater moloch are biggest concern. i have experience with archers, know that they do some insta kills on high levels and have low energy cost for misssile using, and i was already aged, 26/41, by a ghost previously, so im little paranoid aboud ghosts.

had thief once who found similar vault, on higher levels tho, equiped cloak of invis, killed liches first with slayers to prevent them summon to much, and rest of undead after. will attack them, eventually, even after gate is closed.

Those monsters are in the tension room? ?_? Okay, just in case you don't know, the titan doesn't see in dark, (IIRC) the ghost doesn't see invisible and the moloch can be lured up and killed that way or be teleported away via wand (which you should have) until everything else is cleared.

ok, gate closed, hit lvl46, hit grand in scurgari(those train dex like crazy!), picked tons of stuff there. forgot to instal ''alert'' on the start so, goodbye ''missile weapon master''.. will try great vault of undead next, now it is going to be much easier with penetration ability and lvl15 in scurgari. btw, found 7lbs and glowing wand on final level, hope it is of wishing. had accident on mt, droped all stuff before ceiling trap, activated it, and forgot to put on thick gountlets when pickin up everything, turned all potions to poison (~50 of them), and cursed all food, doh.

cleared tension first, tho that greater titan hitted me twice with his quarrels(~130dmg), and that black W was a named shadow wyrm, droped me to 9hp with two acid blasts, luckily had enough piety to prey for healing.

damned liches, killed dozen lich kings and few emperors, but the level is filled with summoned monsters now, specially with red worms who reproduce rapidly, cutting through is rather boring.. nevertheless, i left Chain and heres final score.

When you hit lvl 50, you get an awesome class power that makes your missiles go THROUGH monsters. you should have be very happy about the red worms and shot the emperor liches through them
