I was just wondering, for what platforms will JADE be available, Windows, *nix and MAC are quite obvious, but how about mobile platforms, I would love to be able to play JADE on a PDA/Smartphone, even if I have to buy a new one for it....

Well, JADE will be available for all platforms that (a) can run at least Java 6 (probably Java 7 at some point) and (b) will have at least 1 GB of memory, a decent CPU and a standard input interface. For the first releases I definitely have no plans to support other input methods, very small displays, etc. The main goal right now is to make a great game - without concern for fiddly platforms details.

But as the UI interface basically can be extended it might be a nice proof of concept if someone where to start with a latform implementation for some mobile thingy...

While you may be able to get it to work on the more advanced mobile thingies, you better forget about the normal mobile phones. These run something that is called J2ME and that is not like J2SE.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but currently available smartphones have much worse parameters: something like 512MB (or even 256MB) RAM and CPU worse than 1GHz. So right now i wouldn't even think about smartphone version of JADE.

chalup -> there also PDA's with >700Mhz processors, consider that...

The good thing is the JADE will work on "cheap subnotebooks" like ASUS Eee...One JADE per child :)
