YOUR HISTORY:
Your parents are travelling adventurers. Both are competent,
talented and doing very well.
As a child you had to survive pretty harsh times since your parents
seemed to have run out of luck. Their wealth was ever-declining and times
were very hard.
During your youth you had a lot of fun playing with other kids of
your age. You always were a natural leader and the center of interest.
As a young adult you tried many occupations before finally deciding
on one to pursue. This has left you with a very broad base of lore.
You decided to become a Paladin.

Tried to make my way through Dwarven Halls, but that damned werewolf king suprised me. I didn't even had time to react, suddenly he appeared and took me down to 3hp and stunned. I had wand of teleportation with 8 charges in my inventory, but for obvious reasons I couldn't use it. So I tried to pray, but unfortunately god wasn't too pleased with me, so I didn't received any divine help. And it was already quite good char, I had some decent amount of herbs, and I was going to harvest more(big room pacified). I was also going to crown on L+(I was actually converting on L with amulet of order). I guess that next time it will happen..

I'd still rather go there than the forest most days. In the event that it becomes clear I'm going to be destroyed, I'd rather that the process take 30 seconds than 30 minutes.

Hmm as for me, going through forest is more annoying than dangerous - if you have decent DV/PV, animated trees won't hurt you too much. Going through Dwarven Halls usually is also relatively safe, IF character have some proper equipment(perfect set for DH is: source of teleportation, teleport control, scrolls/wand of monster detection, and magic mapping). Also you need to carefuly check every door(with detect traps skill) before touching them. If most of those requirements are meet, passing through DH is safe, except for very rare situations like that described in first post.

the past 3 characters Ive had all went through the forest, just because they all found cloaks of invisibility. Makes the forest go much faster.

I don't think it's hard at all to go through the forest - wield two shields, use coward tactics, and just push your way through. I don't think I've ever died there after realizing that its no use kill any trees unless you get surrounded. And I don't know how you wasted half an hour there, 5 minutes would be more like it for me probably...

Man, I wish I could take down those trees! Is there a way to do it?

The spawning rate is probably too much and the trees get very experienced after a while... A long ago I actually decided to have some fun and attempted to burn them down... with fairly annoying consequences. :)

The question is: can trees respawn in your sight, or they can appear only where you can't see them?

There was a rumor about 99Pe+Farsight+Necklace of the Eye+Banshee...
