Does messages like "you kill the gnome zombie" make sense? Aren't zombies (and all the other undead) already dead? What would be a better message? You destroy the X? You banish the X? The X falls apart? The unholy life leaves the X?
I noticed that too. I'd say "destroy", that works for all undead I think. Or you could go for specific messages: "you shatter the skeleton", "the zombie stops moving", "the vampire turns to dust", etc.

there not dead there undead. So you gotta redead them, "you redead the gnoll zombie" ... just like when you're dealing with an untied shoelace you gotta retie it.

I agree with Cass--destroy seems like it would work the best. Can't think of any kind of undead for which it wouldn't sound right.
