Wizened old man

I keep getting killed by "a wizened old man", typically in a single blow on the first level of the first dungeon. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Could he be similar to certain bears, in that his damage increased by mistake?

This is a known bug in 0.2.5 which makes this version unplayable. You can meet any NPC as a random encounter in the dungeons. I hope 0.2.6 is on its way ;)
