Summary:

Rolled a candle drakeling monk on the server with stats high enough to get all the pv talents. Started by rescuing the dog, not optimal of course but I wasn't serious about speedrunning when I started. Got nice rewards from the vault on the bottom, anyway. I also found blink dogs and a centipede corpse along the way, so it was a promising start.

Then went to DT, random monster quest was for a rat. Waldenbrook sold a scroll of magic mapping, so I went to the surface, retrieved the wand and robbed DF. Left with an eternium spear that paired well with my large crystal shield from the puppy cave. Best armor was clothes of life. Back to the surface where I cleared griffyard and killed Keethrax for power. Then went back to dwarftown, talked about quests and dived straight to the water temple, killing Khelly. I figured the snake would be an easy prey for my stack of demon slaying arrows. However, that plan was foiled when a stone block trap destroyed nearly the entire stack. I had little other resources, so I threw my PoCC at him instead for an easy kill.
Went back to DT, talked more about quests and cleared pyramid, finishing the arena along the way. Back in DT I sacced a greater demon, sold my stuff to Waldenbrook, killed him and sacced big punch. Got crowned with the shirt of the saints, which I thought was about equally good as my cloths of life.

Somewhere along the way I found a ring of ice and bracers of to+4. With all that I cleared the golems and then went to the tower of eternal flames. Here I had a bit of a problem: nothing to disable the wyrm and I still had no better weapon than an eternium spear. At this point I read my spellbook of cold to exhaustion. Then just went for it. The wyrm fell surprisingly easily in straight up melee, thanks to overpowered drakeling speed.

Dived to the casino, I think the best I got there was a random SoCR. Then made a very costly mistake, as I took the wrong stairs and ended up in DF. I had no choice but to walk all the way back through the CoC. Then found out that you can only teleport past the EG if there are no living copies. By the time I figured that out, about 5 copies were running about on the level. Luckily there was an alarm trap on the level, so I let them kill each other and killed the last one myself. When I finally returned to the casino, I had wasted about 2000 turns. :(

In the unreal caves I decided to use my magic missiles on the AKW for fat xp. That nearly ended in disaster, as I had just enough charges to get him to critical, then decided to finish him off with arrows of slaying.. only to find out that my untrained missiles couldn't pierce his armor. In the end I killed him in melee. He dropped a corpse! That removed dooming, got rid of the curse on a nearby altar.

The end game was monk cheesed. I killed the two balors standing on the levers. Destroyed the upper lever (wrenching my wand), then switched places to put a chaos wizard on top of the lower lever. Teleported out and left the chain.

I broke my personal speed record by a margin, never finished within 30k turns before. Still, if I hadn't taken the shortcut to DF it would have looked more like a real speedrun.

24.5k is very good for a melee speedrun. My best run is 22884 (http://www.adom.de/forums/showthread.php/11572-YAVP-Paladin-Speedrun-(22884-turns)) with a Paladin, and I was actually trying for it ;) The top melee score that I've found recorded is 18755 for a barbarian, and I've only heard of a handful under 25k.
