Couple of questions

So I'm going for an ultra with a grey elver ranger, and wanted to ask a couple of questions. First, what's the danger level for a scroll of danger to be generated in a shop? There are two scroll shops in my game, in PC and UD. And second, what happens when you pick an item in water dragon's lair?

don't know about #1, but good luck finding one

As for #2, the water dragon mommy turns hostile, I think teleports to you, then tries to rip you a new one. She is pretty tough so watch out.

Danger level of scroll of danger is (highlight to view): 1, so it can be generated anywhere.

i won't swear by my job, but IMO scroll shops tend to generate more bad scrolls [amnesia, mob agrav, danger] for cursed/doomed chars. Also reading few scrolls of peace on shope level to reduce scroll selection is nice idea...
