More on this here (http://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2012/11/29/video-games-14-in-the-collection-for-starters).

Aside from the whole question of whether video games are art (which I guess we can discuss here, but really what's the point), I think this is amazing. I'm stunned something like Dwarf Fortress is included--and plans to include Nethack! I'm kind of giddy here. Perhaps one day ADOM itself will be featured!

Excellent link, thanks for posting. I'm always impressed and uplifted when I get reminded that there is more to life than just unskilled manual labor, and video games. :)

If anyone wasn't already tempted to go read that article (http://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2012/11/29/video-games-14-in-the-collection-for-starters), here's a quote that might tempt you more:

The games are selected as outstanding examples of interaction design— .... Our criteria, therefore, emphasize not only the visual quality and aesthetic experience of each game, but also the many other aspects—from the elegance of the code to the design of the player’s behavior—that pertain to interaction design.
