So heres my first 'win'. It's pretty pathetic, as far as wins go, but I'm not ashamed at all. I'm just glad I have a little story to tell.

Got precrowned with serpent's bite, which was fun. Had Big Punch as well in the early stages of the game too, so I was pretty well-equipped. Anyway, my character proceeded with much regularity, and if anything exciting happened to him in the early stages I don't remember it, so we'll forget that. Oh, except that I had a belt of giant strength, which substituted for my pathetic lack of strength.

I dove down to the mana temple and on the way acquired the halberd, Wyrmlance, in a giant vault (as well as the ring of immunity). This was a good excuse, according to my friend, to go and slaughter some dragons in the blue dragon cave. So while I was up there getting food and curing corruption with the unicorn (so glad I did that) he convinced me to kill the assassin prince and then the blue dragon caves when I got to the bottom. So, I took his advice. Bam, Needle and Sting :D.

So after going back and forth a bit realising I left the mana orb behind I finally got down to D:50 for the first time. It's then when I ask my friend, "Okay, how do I win?"

"Well, you use a wand of destruction to destroy the levers."

"What if I don't have a wand of destruction?"

"You create doors around the levers and summon a monster in the middle of them."

"...What if I can't do that."

"Kill every intelligent monster on the level."

Ok, that sounds...easy...

So I didn't really plan on doing that, because at the time I didnt have the mana battery corruption, so I wanted to do the door thing. But then, while trying to teleport into the corridor at the bottom (no wands of digging for some stupid reason) I miscalculated the position and hit the wall, consequently teleporting to the bottom of the big room.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Well I decided to fight for a while til I could teleport out but I didn't want to teleport away and get surrounded by balors, infact I preferred having the ghosts and chaos servants surrounding me. After fireball spam and some needle and sting stabbing of balors I realised that I wasn't actually having much trouble at all. Couldn't see any more balors so I teleported out and killed Fistanarius (he was WAY easier than I expected). Got the wand corruption, so the door thing was hopeless as my wands would just die in a fire. I decided that I would try the hard way and stab virtually everything on D:50. And stab I did. I'm pretty sure I had almost EVERY corruption the moment I closed the gate, and if it werent for my finding of a ring of djinni summoning and wishing for a SoCR I would have probably died of corruption.

So, immensely proud of myself for finally winning the damn game, I began to ascend the CoC. I came across the battle bunny level. I tried teleporting to the stairs, but it seems the floor was too crowded. So, ever so slowly, I magic missiled my way up to the top. It took two whole prayers, but I got to about halfway through the last turn. I realiesd i had a cloak of invisibility, and wanted to see if that would help, so I put it on. I then began to magic missilize and stab things.

I then got hit to -458.

By ONE battle bunny.

In ONE round.

I have NO idea whatsoever how the hell that happened, but I don't care. I'm proud of my getting hit for 500 damage by a battle bunny. And I'm proud for my first win.

...wow, I've won ADOM. It's like my life has lost all meaning now.

Heh, well done... sort of. You should probably know that the easy way to get through the battle bunny level is by using a wand of digging through the walls between he stairs. No uber-bunny problems then.

I did have that knowledge in the back of my mind. What I didn't have is a wand of digging Q_Q

Congratulations indeed. Those rabbits ate my first win-potential character too. Only he wasn't on his way back from D:50. :(

Killed bugs, killed all the few other bunnies that spawned.... descended, when I came back the entire level was filled with brown worms. Ended up starving to death before I could get to the up stairs lol

Haha, wow. To have brown worms spawn on that level would suck immensely.

I think next time I will clear every rabbit before I descend.

I like to go with the "teleport to and kill Bugs, kill all the bunnies, create tunnel and then locked doors corridor between the stairs with wands of digging and door creation" maximum safety overkill approach.
