Leana, female Dark elf, has grown among the priests of spider-goddess and kept devotion for her whole life. She was trained in martial arts unknown to most warriors and crafted herself an armor of spider shell.
The wisper of goddess called her to the Drakalor chain. She avoided peaceful and colorful Terinyo, and entered shady village nearby. Some beggar dared asking her for money, and got a hit of her fist in exchange. Unluckily for him, a hit was deadly.
Some man, that called himself "master of thieves", teached a young warrior how to pick pockets. Not that she used it a lot, though.
A small cave to the north looked interesting, and she descended there. Creatures were no problem, and soon dark elf descended to the next level. She killed most of her enemies with ease, except for vortices, that appeared quite frequently.
There was a shop ran by a high elf on 4th level, but the only interesting offer was scroll of education, and girl still didn't know how to read. Descending further, she found an altar of the Goddess, and used a chance to worship her.
Lol'th accepted sacrifices with pleasure and rewarded a warrior with famous Robes of resistance. Leana kneeled in gratitude, continuing her journey.
A cave led her to a village high in mountains, where she was attracted by strange shiny bracers in the shop. "What are those things"? - she asked. Shopkeeper told her about Bracers of War, but also said, that he's only willing to sell them for 80000 gold pieces. "I'd better die than pay so much to some dwarf" - she stated. But bracers soon became her, thanks to a potion of invisibility.
After leaving through a secret passage, she made a visit to Terinyo. A Druid asked to kill some evil Keetrax, and she decided not to do such a dificult task, as well as helping little girl, visiting other dungeons instead. Caverns of Chaos led her to more dwarves.
It's obvious that she disliked dwarves as much as any other dark elf did. But rewards offered by an ancient dwarf made her, at least, not kill all dwarves on sight.
Thrundarr asked her to kill a white worm, which was found in the puppy cave, along with the corpse of puppy.
Being now able to read, she understood a message on a papirus scroll and went to piramid. Old pharaon was no match for a beastfighter. Soon she took an ankh and wrappings from his dead body.
Then she entered some long and unknown tunnel, where she found a factory of golems. The only way to hurt golems seriously was criticals, and she thanked her innate dark elven ability to find weak spots. All golems went down quite quickly thanks to it.
But the factory itself disappointed a girl. Weapons and armor were both useless to her, and the only thing worth mentioning was a steel crown in a hidden room. On the other hand, fighting golems gave here a lot of fighting experience, and that was worth time spent.
Then she returned to an old dwarf. All his quests were piece of cake, but after venturing through dwarwen halls (where she found a tension room of Great Karmic Wyrms, luckily undisturbed) she was surprised by a sharm of chaos servants and a duying old man. She ignored him of course and continued all quests.
While exploring the wilderness, she found a ring of the high kings, finally completed druid's quest and got a book of frost bolt. With the help of the crown she got severa; hundreds of castings from this book and equal one. Somewhere at this point a girl found out she got corrupted with an unholy aura.
Continuing her exploring, she found a temple infested with bugs. A good thing was that all insects laid equally easy to her fists, frost bolt or a long bow of hunting (+6,+6). She tried eating a corpse, and found out that a fury of a true nature fills her. After killing all bugs (where unholy aura helped a lot) and eating corpses she had about 170 speed, and that's not to mention energy cost of movement which was 404 due to 7Lb.
A dwarven weaponmaster agreed to train her willpower back for a good sum of money, potions helped too.
Somewhere in the river she found a dragon lair. Of course, a dragon was too huge to fight, and she didn't try, only picked up a shiny sapphyre ring, which appeared to be a ring of immunity.
Now she felt prepared for further decsension to the great caves. An old man, strangely, still laid on the stairs, still alive. He mumbled some words about chaos orbs and invasion of Chaos, but she didn't understand anything.
"Goddess, please, tell me, what that strange man was talking about?"
And Lol'th explained a warrior the true reason she led her into the Drakalor Chain. A stupid god called Andor wants to concure a world, already owned by she and other gods, for himself. Being at the side of Chaos itself, goddess didn't want a world to be owned by some other god. So, a hero is needed to stop his forces, and Leana is successfull so far.
Elemental orbs are needed to access the gate, and the first one lays some levels lower, while for the second one you'll have do ascend back to the surface.
Soon, Leana found what her goddess was talking about.
A monstrous snake holding the orb fell easy in melee without even being able to respong: so fast the attacks of elven warrior were. It's worth mentioning, that, after clearing unholy aura and some other corruption, she already acquired "very light" one and the one that teleports.
Then, dark elf ascended, and found a tower of flames, where the second orb should be held.
Surprisingly, the tower's heat was harmless, due to a magic ring, and monsters again were no match for her. Even fire giant kings soon became only tasty steaks. An evil dragon tried to fight, but bare fists of Leana crushed his skull in its weakest spots with ease, and soon great wyrm fell down. Elementals and grues followed him easily.
(I forgot to mention that some dragon in tower dropped a Preserver)
"What's next, goddess?" - "Continue to the caves. Your target is there".
Leana continued immediately. Soon she found a casino, but, when something teleported her to the entrance of the shop, she got furious and started killing everyone. As expected, there was nothing of value in shop, except for gauntlets of strength +6.
A cat lord that she met said that she respected a cat race and should be rewarded. Who could know that love to cats can pay so much? She carried a cat's eye ring on her finger for the rest of her life.
The temple of Air was harder than others, due to stupid lightnings that destroyed her precious [+0,+6] cloak and a stupid summoner that summoned diamond golems. This, honestly, was the first time the girl saw such a thing. But, again, her ability to find weakness helped against these almost undestructible constructions.
Somewhere under the temple of Air, Leana understood that she ran out of cooked lizards. All that artifacts she carried made her eat a lot, as well as corruption-speeded metabolism. She prayed and goddess satiated her, but beastfighter knew that divine patience is limited.
Still, she managed to clear the temple of Earth, though all that elementals phasing throung walls and continuously surrounding her were a pain in the ass.
She stopped descending when finding a greater wault of undead. That was the place where she had to pray for food again, and Lol'th grumbled in anger: "I'm tired of your endless requests without any thanks. Give me something in exchange!".
Leana decided to go back to surface, make a sacrifice to the Goddess and restock on food.
The way was uneventful, if we don't mention that girl had to drink most of her potions to not starve.
She wanted to just buy some food in Terinyo and leave, but the village druid told her about a unicorn that seeks her help.
Leana knew something about unicorns, especially the fact that they only talk to good and noble persons, while Leana, from the sight of humanity, was completely evil (the bottom of C-, if it means. She killed 4 shopkeepers and dug both graveyards, after all).
But she knew a way to trick a unicorn. She found an altar of hated Elderon it the UD and sacrificed there until her aura looked almost like neutral, thoung her real soul didn't change at all.
She also used it to exchange corpses of orb guardians on 4 potions of cure corruptions. Druid seemed to be very happy, that a dark elf has changed. Of course, he was mistaken.
A white unicorn didn't find a girl suspicious. "I need help!" - screamed she. - "Kill my evil reflection, black unicorn".
But the offer of a black unicorn looked a lot better, and she decided to chose it.
When fists of a girl became covered by red blood of a white unicorn, she felt, that a true chaos of her soul clears her aura again. After recieving 7 PoGA from the black unicorn, she, of course, didn't let it live.
"You, stupid horses, are totally the same".
After drinking all potions she felt incredibly powerful. She remembered a very important thing she forgot to do. Earn the respect of Goddess.
And Leana went to Dwarftown. She knew what to do.
"Dirty follower of spider-goddess! You didn't even try to concert!" - called Ruun, the Dark Elven priest.
"I will never try".
And then Ruun died. His shade called dwarwes to avenge him, but Leana only laughed when her both precised and powerful strikes destroyed hated lawful creatures. Thrundarr came heavily armored, but one hit in a weak spot killed him. Leana, lightning-fast and equally deadly, left no one alive.
Then she threw a lot of gold on an altar, which immediately turned black.
"Am I worthy, goddess?"
"Yes, you are, child. You are hereby crowned as my champion. Go and fight with my blessing".
A fine leather armor "Nature's companion" appeared in the hands of a girl. She equipped it and became even faster than before.
Then Terinyo shared the fate of the Dwarftown, and then warrior continued her quest, only stopping to kill a water dragon.
While venturing through Darkforge, two notable events happened: first, a golem dropped a ring of Djinny summoning. Second, dwarven artificer, Kherab, was wery happy to meet her and gave her amulet and a shield. She touched them and felt the essence of Chaos inside.
"That's how you, racist dwarf, reward me! Corrupting artifacts! Not to mention that I'd better fight with your corpse than covered by shield".
And so, Leana killed that dwarf.
Soon she reached the bottom of the cave. She killed Sharad-Waador after doing his simple request: what a lack of respect, to give an unarmed fighter weapons as a reward!
Chaos Archmage died in the darkness he created. A girl didn't realise who she's hitting at first, but when this thing dropped an orb, it became clear, that was another useless guardian.
Then she used orbs to turn the staircase and descend further, as goddess said.
D:49. While throwing useless items to move, she found a potion with a mark "useless" on it. Okay, let's throw it. Someone called her clever for discovering a use for this useless item and gave her an emerald dagger. What a stupid thing.
When Leana entered D:50, she understood, that this is her target. Hordes of chaos creatures tried to oppose her, but they couldn't match her speed (250 due to corruption) and power. Not to mention she just reached grand mastery in her martial arts.
When lower creatures fell to her fists, Leana faced demons called balors, creatures with flaming scourges in their hands, almost as tough as she, and striking very hard and accurately. But they could not match her speed.
After a long fight, all demons vere dead, she turned two levers and felt that chaos energies around her disappeared.
She went back to the surface, feeling that her goddess is very pride of her, and ready for a great fate that awaits her.
Just after leaving the Drakalor Chain, she used all her wishes on Scrolls of Chaos resistance, to cleanse her body and soul, except one.
She looked on the last ring of Djinny summoning. "What should I wish for? I am already the most powerful warrior in the world. My goddess loves me. When I return, power and riches await me."
- What do you wish for, mortal?
- Nothing.
- I think I understand what you want.
You suddenly know about "Smithing" skill.
Also, it could look like it was very easy... well, mostly it was. Bracers of War alone are enough to make game good.
But one place in the whole game was really risky. It's bug temple. I almost died in the first room, when stupid bugs surrounded me, took half of my HP, and I had not enough time to both heal and use wand of fireballs. Also, killer bugs still hit very hard.
