Fourth time slaying all the balors and keeping the chaos gate sealed for good, second time actually getting the PC home alive. Also, first PC not to become an isolated pariah and die alone after returning home :p

My drakish's healer epic journey: [*Probably contains spoilers*]

Things started out epically for the drakeling healer. Dived through the UD, picked up a nice crystal medium shield [+9,+7] and mithril ring mail [+0,+8].
Then, with a greater stroke of luck, whilst clearing out a vault of goblins in D:3, stumbled upon... a rune-covered club. Picked up Skullcrusher, wielded it for the rest of the game.
Alack, the great hero suffered a setback when attempting to convert an altar, and getting his equipment dusted instead. Bye bye awesome crystal shield and mithril armor. ;_;
PC got crowned after not too long, with shock immunity and, erm, the gauntlets of eternal peace. ={
Thrundarr's first quest was to slay a ghost lord. None appeared to be around. Went to Pyramid, and found one in Rehetep's level! Managed to defeat Rehetep and his guards with little armor and no wand of fireballs. Equipped his stuff.

Back to CoC, took DH route for second quest. Both floors' stair rooms were *really* far apart... ended up getting corrupted pretty early in the game because of this. Corruption was tough scales ^_^
Went to storm Darkforge, with a new thick skin and Skullcrusher. Found *two* artifacts there -- Soaker and the scorched spear. Found some decent adamantium full plate armor.
After raiding Darkforge and completing the portal quest, did Guth'Alak's quest for some ice bridge generating items. Found a nifty spellbook of Death Ray; despite being a healer, the PC still managed to get over 400 spell knowledge with it. Went to slay Keethrax and ate him for some stat boosts; luckily, the resulting corruption was only yearning to consume Order.
In Puppy Cave, killed and ate an invisible stalker. *Permanent invisibilty!* ^_^
Stormed the TotHK. Very nearly got killed by a master mimic... Death Ray'd him for that.

Back in the CoC, got some neat stuff like white dragon scale mail, bracers of regeneration, and *another* shield with stats of [+9,+7].
Stormed Water Temple, with base St at 24 from eating fire giants and dark orcs and To at 32 from eating undead.
Went through ToEF then, with epic speed. Equipped bracers of regeneration with blessed ring of ice so the drakeling would make it through the tower still raw. Smashed apart most monsters, with Skullcrusher and Frost Bolt. Enjoyed an epic battle with the ACW -- the PC doled out some smashing hits, the ACW retaliated with some more, a blessed !oEH was had. After victory, PC left with the Fire Orb.

Back to CoC. On D:33, dropped the bunny master with a Death Ray -- just because, for some reason, the PC could =D. Disassembled a diamond golem with Skullcrusher.
Cleaned out a greater vault of giants on D:34... quite easily, except for that time the PC mis-teleported and ended up right in a room surrounded by fire and frost giants ={. Artifacts were Aylas Holy Scarf [ =) ], and the staff of the archmagi [ ={ ]. Checked the loot dropped outside the artifact room, and what did I find... "wand of wishing (5 charges)" -- !!! \_(^_^)_/

The battle with the cat lord was next, so used up a couple of wishes to prepare for that. Wished for spellbooks of Acid Ball [which came in mega handy], and eternium tower shields [which... actually didn't really].
The cat lord battle was *very* nasty; 49-56 DV wasn't enough to save the PC from serious amounts of damage. PC had to gulp down quite a few !oEH to be on the safe side. Eventually managed to soften him with Acid Ball, and smack him down with Skullcrusher. The battle seems to have gotten harder in p11... then again, I usually either please or paralyze him.
Aged to middle years by a shadow wyrm, used a wish on some potions of youth. Maybe not too well thought out...
Battle with the Master Summoner was super easy as usual. Though once the PC returned to pick up all the stuff he left outside the temple to save it from lightning, along comes an ice vortex... "The heap of 6 blessed potions of extra healing on the ground is shattered!" {*sigh*}
Went to Earth Temple. Did not have too much difficulty, even without potions of extra healing, thanks to Acid Ball.

Proceeded onwards, found a mimic tension room, nearly ended again -- this time by a mimic hivemind. He got a Death Ray for his bad behaviour. The good ol' drakish healer recovered his HP in no time, though... =)
Found another greater giant vault on D:46. Despite clearing it out quickly, still got quite a lot of corruptions. Rewards were Black Thumb, and the pretty awesome Iron Crown of Havlor ^_^
Proceeded on through the Unreal Caves, managing to meet two boss monsters on UC:2. Squared up against the Chaos Archmage in the Mana Temple, *just* about remembered to equip AMW for death ray resistance first ={. Actual battle was surprisingly easy due to huge Strength and Skullcrusher. PC got his bracers of regeneration nicked by an annihilator, though... =(

With no more SoCR to be found -- PC couldn't take weird tome quest since he didn't know Stealth, and the dwarven mystic didn't give any... -- it was on to D:50. It was an intense and thrilling showdown... though surprisingly not that tough. Was unprepared for the fact that the PC would enter with 10 speed -- had never gotten a drakeling that far before... -- and got smacked about a lot by WMoPCs and greater chaos servants for a while. After speed finally returned to normal, went for the levers. Got smacked by a ghost lord which made the PC middle-aged again; thankfully, though, the ghosts didn't manage to get any more hits in.
PC got tentacle mouth *and* mana battery after running out of corruption removal means -- making any sort of magic frustratingly hard to use. Rather than try to use magic and usually end up wasting his turn, the PC was probably better off just taking on the balors in melee. Which he did... with DV/PV of 71/75, 30 St and a blessed Skullcrusher, this ended up being surprisingly effective. In fact, Fistanarius's biggest threats came in his summons -- first a swarm of killer bugs (!!), then a gang of ancient karmic dragons (which all fell, quite strangely, to Death Ray), and then, with some of his last breaths, a horde of ghost kings. Oh, and large swarms of annoying brown worms to try to slow the PC's escape...
After finally purging D:50 of balors and sealing the gates, and managing to escape the CoC without aging too much, the weary drakish healer got cleansed by the Greater White Unicorn and went home. Finally, I got a PC to live happily after! ^_^

Heh, personally I never really was that much of a fan of drakelings... that is, 'til I came across this thread (http://www.adom.de/forums/showthread.php/12257-Race-decision-diagram) =). They're quite fun to play, just as long as they have regeneration items or heaps of healing spells in the ToEF; my last drakish healer managed to roast in there... ={ (that is, after taking a otherwise-lethal critical with Fate Smiles)
