Rolled a candle born high elf fighter.

Set out to save the pup. First kill was a claw bug (I put this in the monster memory). PC:6 had a mixed vault and the pup died before I could see him. I got stuck between a mummy, a doppleganger lord and a cave lion. Managed to kill the dopple lord and the cave lion, but got sick from the mummy. Escaped the level. PC:4 (IIRC) had a few herbs, I got curia there and cured. I also got 4 morgia roots, ate them and raised To by 2 points.

There was a chaotic altar on PC:3. I changed my alignment to C and sacced a bunch of ants. Now i burn with the anticipation of power. If you'd like to sac more, keep an eye on the food reserves.

Claimed.

Sacrificed ant queen on the altar, explored upper levels, nothing of interest. Went to Lawenilothehl, got pick pockets, completed girl quest, which pushed character to NC, decided to do carpenter quest even though character was candle-born (didnt noticed this). However, that should not be very bad - morgia works cursed, Dex is already near 25, spensweed should not be needed with this double-regen, and this character is not a troll to require stomafillia.

Neutral alrat on VD:3, untouched for now, nothing of interest on other levels except of goblin chieftain room and two orc scorchers, saved carpenter, got healing and N-. A lot of pickpockets in the process. Neutral god probably is not very happy after those close relations with chaotic one, but shouldnt be too angry. Try with caution, however.

e: Wow, that's another very promising character! He acutally regenerates like a madman and deals quite some damage as well.
I started by status-IDing Frank's equipment and then trying some uncursed stuff, which already revealed some nice pieces like an amulet of protection +2. I also started using rocks and arrows to get into missile combat a little. Visited DDL which contained a river and on the other side some great bracers of toughness +4, then continued to the CoC. There I explored everything down to D9, exapt for two levels with rivers, one of them was the arena level where the arena itself was not reachable (didn't want to drop all the stuff). In the big room there was only one herb patch to be saved, but I tried to move it to morgia-line and kind of messed it up. Maybe a skilled herb farmer can still save it, but I am not so good at this stuff (herbs look like this: one herb on top, one streight south of it, then one to south-east and one to south-west but non directly to the south, then again directly to the south [on the same line as the both ones on top] and another one directly south of that). Therefore Frank was able to install teleport controll (from a single blink dog) and poison resistance (not 100&#37; sure, but spider factory might be still alive) in the big room and he found a great higher metal shield. On D1 there is also a single blink dog still alive which might be used to generate a backup corpse later on, and there is also a chaotic altar on the same level. On another level (maybe D2?) there is a cat running around freely (another one was killed by an ice vortex ;-) ). Also there is a forge on one of the higher levels. I took up the Si and also took a short look down the staircase to D10 which is still not Dwarftown.
I changed the melee weapon twice during my turns, at first to an orcish spear and then to a mithril large hammer. Both are trained a little by now. Also made some levels and learned the Quick talent.

Like I said, Frank is a really tough guy and the next player needn't be afraid to start the dwarven quests. Still it would be great if a skilled herb farmer could somehow save some morgia in the big room, because toughness is still quite low (without the bracers of toughness that is).

Explored down to D:11 where I found Dwarftown. Sold all of our extra gear so that we're no longer Strained! and increased our piety a tad so that we can get holy water. Thrundarr wanted me to kill a goblin slavemaster. Visited D:12, found a jelly vault. Sacrificed two spare weapons to clear it, as well as a bee hive. D:12 has the AF/DH split on it. Headed back up. Big Room has a spider factory and two (!) black wizards on it. Spend some time clearing summons out. I think they all should be gone. Kill a slavemaster in the process, so head back to Thrundarr for reward. Poke my head into DH. Near the stairs is an air demon, so I lure him to Dwarftown and sac him. Explore a little farther, but the passage is barred by a shadow wyrm that I don't think we're strong enough to deal with. Head back out. Fight around on D:12 for the last few hundred turns. Leave crossing the forest or confronting the shadow wyrm to another player.

Note: This character has now killed several cats.

Claiming! Let's see if I can keep Frank alive and give him some extra 'oomph'.

Strongly considered taking out the Shadow Wyrm (or at least giving it a shot), but didn't feel that my inventory and gear had enough in it that would be helpful. So decided instead to take Grobble's suggestion and poke at Griffyard. We'll need to get there eventually anyway.

Blink Dog swarmed me in the big room. I had to drag some down the stairs to work my way through them so as not to get totally destroyed. Going to have to be careful with them; I killed a swarm, but there's probably still a couple leaping around the room, ready to ambush. Also, there might be a number of rats, but I killed the wererat. Might just need some vermin destruction.

Dropped into the arena for some cooked lizard rations. We're back to Burdened, but the amount of food we're carrying should make it worth it. I took the time to 'n'ame all the ratlings, in case we happen to go back for some reason and want to nab more food. Lizard1 and Lizard2 are yuor lizard-sellers (of course).

Hit level 13. Haven't found the papyrus, but it's spawned.

Stopped off to talk to the barbarian. With a first kill of a claw bug, not sure how easy it'll be to get his Courage, but I won't kill him. I'll leave it for the next person who might want the extra XP.

Picked up some Crystal Scale Mail while clearing Griffyard (0/+8). Dropped us to 'strained', but heavy though it is, the rust monster immunity is worth it to me. Haven't identified whether it's cursed or not yet.

Ate too many undead corpses. Gained 2 toughness, but sacrificed our Neutral alignment in doing so.

The Griffyard is 100&#37; cleared on the surface. Didn't go down below, though; with our present alignment hit, I didn't want to be without piety. So I took us back to VD3 and brought alignment back up to Neutral, and the God back to Pleased. Did a reading of an Identify scroll and found that I'd pulled an Eternium Halberd out of the Griffyard. Changed over our hammer and shield for that for now, though I haven't gotten rid of them.

Traveled into The Pyramid. Realized that we didn't have trap detection yet, so left and spent some of our money on that and disarming. Skill isn't hihg yet, but I'd rather let the next person have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Returned to The Pyramid after that. Had a Ratling Warrior punch through my crystal armor, reducing it from 0/8 to 0/7. Aside from him (and a scare from a Greater Mimic) I was able to clear it out. Rehep dead.

Started hauling my heavy trash down to sell at the dwarves when I ran out of time. Presently on my way down, strained!, and on the stairs.

Suggestion for the next player: get rid of some of the trash. With the mummy wrapping, that crystal armor can probably be dropped or sold ('sold' is what I was on my way for). Our Amulet Of Free Movement got rusted; you'll probably want to de-rust it if you plan to head to Dwarftown just in case. We've got a stone spear for use on jellies, too. I'd keep that around if you can spare the space. We're presently wearing Free Movement; you'll probably want to change to the Ankh. We're still 'Pleased' with the Neutral God at last check.

Claiming him.

Went to DT, had ammy unrusted and sold items. Ate an orc butcher for +1 strength.
Then I stashed some items with long-term use in the Barbarian glade: spellbook of lightning bolt, manual of bridge building and climbing set.
Went to Griffyard, killed Griff & Nonnak and dug up sword. The sword seems actually to be the best weapon we have at the moment.
Returned to DT, cashed in rewards and went to DH. I dug a shortcut to the stairs down on DH:1. Avoided the shadow wyrm like the coward I am. The stairs on DH:2 were easy to find. Found the Ancient Scythe just below it.
On the way back the shadow wyrm found me anyway. Shot it with blessed undead slayers, then finished him off with the sword of Nonnak.

Cleared ogres, gaining one more str. Finished Arena quest too. Gained level 15, took Immune to Pain talent.

e: So, Frank is still alive and fine! I was not onehundred percent sure what to do with him, so at first I decided return to darkforge, pick up tactics and quest results (armor set... at least some PV improvement) and finally do the demon quest (saced that guy). Afterwards Frank equip the eternium helbard, store some >>>stuff in the ogre cave <<<(wand of destruction and potion of toughness, later added a climbing set) and let him explore some of the deeper levels. Tried to cross the Dwarven Halls but met a giant rust monster on DH2. I gave it a try after putting off all rustable items (including the bracers of toughness)... well, in the very first round this beast made more than 70 points of damage, so Frank raaaaaaaaan for his life... luckily he was able to outrun his attacker... damn, I hate the Dwarven Halls! Ultimate grave of heroes! Anyway, Frank equipped two shields and crossed the animated forest... quick and easy. On the other side he changed to Big Punch in order to keep the shield bonus and explored two more levels untill he found Khelly. Returned to Dwarftown then, sold the loot and trained toughness for 36k (no results to be seen so far). Next aim was darkforge. The top level was cleared easily, the golem was no big problem in berserker mode, too. He just destroyed our wand of door creation with a fire attack, so I dropped alot of >>>vulnerable items in the corner of the downstairs-room<<<, descended and easily killed two more golems, after I lured them up the stairs.
I think that with carefull and patient playing Frank is well able to clear dark forge of all golems and maybe get a nice equipment increase. Another good thing to do would be to create a morgia patch in the big room (got two rows of 3 that are still intact), but we have got only one potion of holy water at the moment. I think that Frank definitly needs quite some improvement by any means, but I am not totally sure how to do it... maybe pools would also be an option, just don't exactly remember if we had a backup blink dog corpse anywhere.

Failed almost as hard as could be possible. One of the first killed golems burned 3 out of 4 beewaxes. Well, i've dropped last one. Next golem burned 4 out of 5 blessed potions, and only after that i dropped _everything_ flammable and finished partial clearing of Darkforge (weapons/armor room, no Crown of Science). Ratling duelist punched -1 PV from our armor, but there should be 196s replacement with unknown yet status.

Then i've made biggest mistake of atleast last ADOM year - i've tried to clear Gremlin Cave without an on-demand light source. Well, its still going. Character stands on trap square, next water trap(s) should be top-right of him, but moving even for one square with 103 speed costs ~50-100 gremlins. Every other trap on a explored level is disarmed with Disarm Traps, there is still 1/3-1/4 level left, some Fluff Balls are lying on the ground somewhere in the cave (one near the top "." on map, representing door).

To avoid burdening, our heavy weapons/armor/tools (INCLUDING ARTIFACTS) are lying just right of closed door. Bracers of touchness are unequipped to avoid rusting.

1081 gremlins. And a lot more to come. Sorry. Atleast berserkering them in darkness is still safe. Not sure for how longer.

[edit]Suggested escape route... We have a wand of trap creation. If we are standing on a water trap, the square immediately north of us should be teleportation. So, kill gremlins until we can move north, then zap trap creation on self and get the hell out.

e: JellySlayer's escape strategy sounds very good to me. Also it might be worth reading the blessed scroll of identify and (if it doesn't work) the uncursed one in order to get some knowledge about the wands that Frank is carrying. Maybe there is something helpful... shouldn't he have that fireball wand at least? In any way whe should definitely forget about that phial and just get the hell out of there if possible.

They are dropping some stuff, but very scarcely. I've pickpocketed some for most noticeably some kind of blanket, but overall their drops are negligible.

Claimed! No promises on being able to save our beloved Fighter, but *someone* has to be the scapegoat! ... and I'm bored and insomniac. ;)

GO: Biggest problem with your suggestion: you can't read in the dark. ;)

Not done yet, but I just wanted to let people know that as of this moment, we're out of the Gremlin Cave, alive and well. Cost two wands, but better that than death by gremlin.

EDIT: And *now* I'm done! First act was to sort through and see if a torch was brought. Sort of as a 'last hope'. Then, to try and read a scroll, remembering too late that you can't read in the dark. Finally, my act was to try out the wands we have. And what we've got includes a Wand Of Digging.

Took a bit to let myself be spoiled (I needed to know where traps go), dug a couple of times back through the wall (thanks to gremlins spawning and misreading trap location), wrenched the last zap from both the wand of digging *and* the wand of trap creation (because I had a brainfart on potions of booze), made a teleport trap, and zapped us out of there. Spent a moment to pick up all our gear, and got the hell out of there. The phial's a lost cause. If more artifacts are needed for an Ultra, we're going to need to get them elsewhere for sure.

I stopped off at the Barbarian's Glade to sort through my goods. The replacement is an Eternium Ring Mail, which I immediately donned. Thinking hard about a trip to The Library to hunt for an AoLS, Ring Of Ice, Fireproof Blanket (we've only got tons of waterproof), or other important goodies. Dropped a bunch of stuff here for a cache (all the unneded artifacts, a couple of weapons). Used one of our Potions Of Booze on the wand of cold, and planning to go after Tomb Of The High Kings. Blessed our cursed climbing set just in case. We should have plenty of holy water by the time it's all done with. Everything unneccessary to the trip was dropped in a separate pile to the caches (slightly south of them). I intend to pick things up once I'm done, or let others handle it.

River smack dab on UC: 1. Not a fun start.

UC: 2 is an herb supporting level, but as I don't feel like we're going to want to farm in a corrupting area, I picked everything to the ground. Ate a blessed Lightning Lizard corpse for the chance at immunity. Don't know whether it took or not, but I feel it was worth the holy water for that chance.

Picked up a Helm Of Water Breathing in the first cavernous level (UC: 3). A trip to Blup's Momma's cave will probably be in order next.

River on UC: 4 as well. Decided I didn't feel like exploring with the stairs in sight, so descended. A corruptor attacked, corrupting to the point of our first corruption: teleportitis. If I were you, I wouldn't bother getting rid of that. It's going to be a HUGE boon to us. We've got Tport Control, after all.

Threat room of giant slugs on UC: 5. Losses to acid: Shortbow Of Accuracy, 1 scroll of Identify, Scroll Of Chaos Resistance (ouch), Scroll Of Darkness, 4 quarrels of undead slaying, Ring Of Weakness, Blank Scroll, 2 gp. After that, I dropped all my stuff in a safe location to keep killing. 24 slugs, 0 corpses. Cocktease.

Used the Wand Of Cold to get to the skeleton's door. Chased the king around, had to use a prayer after a couple critical hits, but managed to down him to get to level 18. Picked up the talent 'Careful'.

Headed to Dwarftown to check out my stuff and try to decide where to go next. Wandered a bit to get some XP and scum for items, and ran out of time waiting for tport to kick in and let me do the oracle.

Next person probably wants to get the SoCR chance from the oracle (we're neutral after all) and from there.... that's a good question. For me, my first order of work would be to replace Big Punch with something. The massive weight is starting to really get painful. Blup's Momma's cave is a good choice, I think. At least do a scouting mission there, although RCT is amazing as a missile, so we may want to consider telling Blup about her before robbing/killing her.

Frank is moving along nicely. I visited the Dwarven Mystic through random teleports, and received four scrolls of chaos resistance which have been stashed safely in the ogre cave. Given that we have SoCRs, I decided that I may as well do some CoC diving. Killed Khelly, descended a few levels. Ate some undead corpses in the Graveyard for extra To, but unfortunately, our alignment is now C. We didn't have that much piety anyway, so I don't think it's that big of a deal. The graveyard is clear, but I decided against grave digging because we don't have confusions resistance to handle the higher liches. Next player may wish to consider this. Skipped the water temple for now. Door trap exploded our bracers of toughness :( and a few other minor items. Killed the banshee, cleared a vault of daemons. Descended as far as wall of flames. On the current level, the room with the wall of flames stairs has a (regular) moloch in it that I didn't feel like killing. Note that the moloch room (top left) is the wall of flames; the down stairs next to us takes us back out of the CoC. The hidden room is a great treasure vault that I robbed for about 50k gold--half a crowning. Unfortunately, we're strained! right now and we don't have too much extra gear to dispose of. I've mostly been dropping sis as I go, but the gold pushed us over. Oh, there's a potion shop on D:24 that I picked up a few waters and stuff. Tried to ring dip a stack of rings using a few PoEX I bought, but didn't end up with anything extraordinary.

Recommended plan is to clear water temple on the way back up, get crowned, then head to ToEF. We don't have a fireproof blanket, unfortunately, nor a source of darkness to, eg. rob the WDC, but there aren't that many options left available to us unless someone feels like doing a big grind for some reason. Digging out some great treasure graves might be worth the risk too, I suppose.

[edit]Random side note: DH2 has a threat room of giant rust monsters in a fairly inconvenient place between the stairs. Proceed with caution; there are probably a few wandering the area you'll need to cross if you elect to take that route. GRMs get multiple hits and punch through armor on every one, so they're pretty dangerous, though, fortunately, pretty slow.

Claiming! Poor Frank has been lonely for over 12 hours now. Someone should spur him on a bit.

Ascended a whooooole bunch to head back to Dwarftown. Getting crowned at Chaotic is just begging for trouble with corruption later, so it was the closest non-chaos altar I could think of. Plus, I wanted to explore Blup's Momma's cave and get said RCT.

Dropped all my stuff safely in the oracle room, Sacced myself into Inner Peace (and to neutral), then went to get my stuff again. Did an Identify while I was there and sold a bunch of junk off. Three blessed rings of regeneration now.

Not a lot more to say about ascending. Nothing interesting happened there. Dropped into Blup's Momma's cave. Looks like there's some potentially very intriguing things in her horde. I saw at least one eternium shield and a steel amulet (too bad Khelly's already dead). Also some Gauntlets Of Strength. Checked the hoard and went to tell Blup about Momma.

Went back down to Dwarftown to sac some gold. The one problem with changing to neutral: only 'very close'. Dropped a bunch of stuff in the dwarven oracle's room to keep it safe, then went up to the Barbarian's Glade to claim a bunch of trash for sale. Still only at 'Very Close'. Dropped some more stuff in the room to tidy our inventory, then went to dive again for some more XP, stuff and cash.

Ended my turn on D: 19, cleaning out a ton of vapor rats. Getting crowned is the next step. We're presently 'Very Close', so hopefully with some more gathering of gold and goodies, potentially selling off Sword Of Nonnak (in the Barbarian's Glade ATM) we can get enough money to push us over and get crowned Neutral. Crowning Chaos, IMO, is just a deathwish; too much extra corruption.

2011

Went one level deeper and found the water temple. We had a helm of water breathing and waterproof blanket so I just went in and fought. Disabled the snake with a potion of cure poison, then killed him in berserk melee. Cooked his corpse with the wand of fireballs and took it with me.

In dwarftown I grabbed the useful items from the mystic room, sold my entire inventory to Waldenbrook and got crowned. The AMW was still in the barbarian glade and I didn't want to go get it first, so we got =cold. And Death's Blade. Meh.

Killed Waldenbrook in a "fair fight" (he's a pushover at this point), gained a level and went to the surface. Turned in the snake corpse, started on the Tower. I recorded this part, will see later if I can upload it. Again, no fireproof blanket. Scouted first and found the stairs mostly quite close by. Astral planes was really helping here, too.

Went back to the barbarian glade, where I had two pickaxes and two wands of digging. Took them all, as well as all the disablers I could find. When I reached the top of the tower, the wands of digging were gone but I still had the pickaxes. Digged an entry, fought servants, nearly got myself killed by not paying attention to my HP. When I got up close with the wyrm only one disabler was still intact, a potion of confusion. So I confused him and berserked him with Big Punch. He dropped. We gained one corruption, but it's just Thorns so I didn't remove it.

I dived, we're nearing the casino.

Claim.

So.... Frank is now a beast. He had probably about the best luck at the Casino as any character I've ever seen. I replaced almost all of his worn items with significant upgrades:
-Mithril cap [0,+2] replaced by [+2,+4] helm of mental stability
-Eternium ring mail [0,+8] replaced by [-2,+11] BDSM
-Medium crystal shield [+9,+4] replaced by [+13,+4] eternium tower shield
-Ring of damage replaced by ring of slaying +6/+6
-No bracers replaced by bracers of regeneration
-Elemental gauntlets replaced by Ironfist
-Adamantium boots [0,+2] replaced by seven league boots [+1,+1]

Oh, and I replaced Big Punch with Executor.

I then killed the shopkeeper with darkness for 2.5 million xps, dropped down a few levels and killed the cat lord with webs for 1.1 million more. There is a beehive on the cavernous level around D:37 that I blocked with doors. Air Temple is on D:40. Found a giant vault on D:41 and am in the process of clearing. Wand of item detection revealed a brown armor and a brown weapon inside the inner room. Brown armor could be nature's companion if we're lucky.

I noticed that I am wearing an amulet of light at the moment. This should be switched out for the ankh--I accidentally lost +Fate attacking a karmic dragon so if we find an altar we should replenish that. There's an altar on D:2 or so if you're in the neighbourhood.

Bit of a wasted turn. First I cleared the inner sanctum of the giant vault, finding Nature's Companion. Then I went to the Air temple. We only had 1 pickaxe and it was broken. We had a scroll of repair, so I repair it and bless it so it won't break again soon. Start digging. Guess what, pickaxe breaks at the fourth wall. Pray for a new one. Your prayer remains unheard.

Went back to the giant vault, killed all the remaining giants and checked the loot. Nope, no pickaxes no wands of digging.

Ok, ok, I will backtrack to dwarftown to get a repair. Then, at D:34, I hear someone counting money. Wand shop! But he didn't sell a single wand of digging. I buy him out and wait for a restock. 1500 turns later he still didn't and a karmic baby dragon destroys our bracers of regeneration. Great. Kill the pest with dragon slaying ammo, guess what he drops. A pickaxe of slaughtering. So I bless it and return to the air temple. Dig, Dig.. your pickaxe breaks!

Back to dwarftown. Then, the moment I step into D:34 again, I hear arcane mumbling. Is that a restock? Turns out it is, and this time he has two wands of digging. Finally! I go back to the air temple and this time succeed in breaching the wall.
The air temple itself was uninteresting. Yulgash only summoned some water elementals before getting into melee range and being executed. Protip: never melee an adventurer.

I cleared the inner temple, converted the altar, sacced all the gold from the giant vault on it (about $100k) and blessed our water. Started the travel to the Earth temple. I forgot to equip our awesome bracers of toughness+7 and to re-equip the seven league boots (unequipped both for the air temple).

Been a slow couple of days. Can't let Frank just sit here so close to the end. Claim.

Okay, so we're basically done now. I recovered Earth Orb without difficulty and made my way down to Mana. Some interesting things on the trip. I came across three great wyrms between D:45 and the Mana Temple. One blue, one black, one karmic. This was a bit of a problem, because we have zero acid resistance. The black/karmic wyrm were blasting me for 200+ HP with acid breath attacks. But I killed them anyway. Also killed a couple titans, a diamond golem, cleared a huge threat room of earth grues. Picked up four corruptions this turn: Scales, unholy aura, very light, and hooves. Scales and UA are pretty good for us, but hooves and very light are not so good. Did not remove any though, as we don't have that much corruption removal to spare and none of these are life-threatening. Cleared Mana Temple at the cost a few points of Wi from stat drains, as well as our 7lbs which were unfortunately destroyed by an annihilitator. Headed back up. Dropped four of the five orbs in the altars on D:48, but didn't do the last one. Had only a few hundred turns left, so I decided I'd leave the final push to the next player. Wandered back up to D:45 and cleared the edge of a great fire vault to close out my turn.

Other notes:
-I saw the ring of immunity in the fire vault. Should be in the main room. There was a book in one of the hidden rooms, so could be Black Tome I guess.
-Corruption on D:45 is very high and we don't have a dragon slayer. Might not be the best idea to actually attempt to clear, but if you do, probably just use unicorn before going for D:50. Or close the gate first and clear the vault on your way out if you're in to that kind of thing.

No acid resistance at *all*? How in the world did that happen? :o I guess people thinking he had it and not bothering to eat ant corpses!

EDITING TO SAY: Picking him up again. Let's see if I can finish it off (without getting us killed).

I made a retreat from the dragons. We have no real need for the ring, and though extra levels would be handy, probably not worth clearing a vault for when we're already a real monster. I double-checked our food situation, though; with that many artifacts, I wouldn't be surprised if we're going through food like a pregnant troll.

10 stoma, 16 cooked lizards, looks good to me. Checked the Chaos clearing stuff as well, dropped the fire orb, and descended.

First act was to use the Potion Of Uselessness. Just because. Long Sting. Obviously I'm sticking with Executor, but one can never tell what they might end up with.

There was a giant tension room on D: 50. While taking them on, I got Poison Hands. Caution will be involved with eating and drinking, for now.

Cleared out most of the Chaos Mutants before I saw a Potion of Ultra-healing on the ground. Hit up a scroll to cure my hands so I could grab it, and finished off the WMoPC easily enough. Then down to the ghost lords, where a swordsman was alreayd in the middle of them, apparently generated neutral as it was fighting the ghost lords. I considered going and digging my way through, but finding I had no wands of digging and only broken pickaxes, that let me know everything I needed to know. So... I watched the fight for a while.

Finally the swordsman died, so I started working my way through. No issues here at all. Picked up a better ring than we started with, and an unidentified wand. Also, as I was working my way through, a Wand Of Destruction. Waited until my teleportitis kicked in, hopped back a few spaces so I wouldn't get attacked while doing stuff, and did a quick read to check out the charges. 2 of them. Good as a just-in-case, but more fun to destroy all and keep going.

The balors were fairly easy. When I moved in to attack Fisty, though, he decided to summon a group of Ice Vortexes. I worried about the potions (even though we're =Cold), but fortunately between a wand of fireballs and RNG blessing me, nothig broke and I was able to work on killing Fisty himself. Wound up raging and apish before the end of it, though. Still, well worth it. Fisty down, I was able to complete the journey and pull the levers, get hit by teleportitis, and zap my way back to the stairs.

.... where I proceeded, for *way* too many turns to admit, to bounce around d:49 as, when I dug into the wall, I dug myself into a corner. Nothing I threw moved me less than two spaces, so due to having accidentally dug a divot below the stairs, I couldn't get myself out. I had to dig *another* trench into the hallway, move down that, rebound, and back my way down the stairs. Pride hurt, but nothing more than that.

Headed out of the COC, popped by the white unicorn's glade to quickly do the 'big reset button', and left the chain. Triumphant!
