Yet another Gnome Wizard victory Pre16, third one of these for me along the way, but this one had a few differences and new experiences for me.

The beginning was pretty much uneventful, somehow found the gauntlets of eternal peace in my inventory before dwarftown, wore those until got the elemental gauntlets.
Dwarf quests were no biggie with finding a bugbear and telecontrol+teleportation for the tree-room. Herbs were plenty in the first floors of CoC (stoma,spence,morgia).
Found Ice Ball spell pretty early and used it to raid Darkforge, found a red dragon scale male [-1, +15] which was nice :cool: weapons sucked, carried the loot to dwarftown to sell.
Got crowned with staff of the archmagi (boo) and -Fire. Tomb of the high kings was a cake walk, just the huge amount of summoners started to annoy (but nothing the good old ice ball couldnt handle)

Then deeper into the CoC, water temple was ice balled all the way. Then went to meet my bride the Banshee, couldnt stand that b*tches moaning for long and ice balled her.
Didnt have enough climbing skill for the library, was in desperate need for some sort of corruption removal before venturing deeper into the CoC.

ToEF was next, You guessed it, Ice Ball.

Then had a moments craze and went to the Minomaze...after an hour of exploring came out and was pissed as hell, that maze sucks..
Wandered into the Casino, some nice books there but not enough money..a level down and a lovely vault of frost dragons gave me enough experience and money for the books and to get my climbing-skill to 100.
Up the shortcut and into the terrifying Rift, ankh on -check, strength of atlas -check, climb down -yes, poof you descent the Rift. I was terribly surprised when reached the bottom safely with no item destruction :o
Gathered books and read them whilst waiting for the weird tome. Got it and delivered it :) corruption removal problem partly solved.

Then decided to go for the Minomaze again, this time to clear that sucker, had never done it before. The second trip was easier and the bottom was found quite quickly.
Had a scare with a MinoKing, (first thought that this was the bugger that was the boss of this place) few ice balls later he was dead.
Then searched for the Emperor, he popped out and found himself stuck in Webs, good old frost bolt took care of him.
Damn the loot is goood, gonna try the Minomaze with every char after this. 6 potiions of Gain atr..potions of cure corruption..potions of strenght..(the axe..)and found the elven bow also.

Then the final descent, cat lord was left alone, the air and earth temples were balled to destruction with minimal effort.
A greater giant vault popped up somewhere along the way, cleared it a bit, but was worried about background corruption so took the first artifact (Skullcrusher) and descended further.
The mana temple was a bit more annoying than the others, but a few crystals of power helped a lot (should have mined these for the temple and D50!!!with gemology at 100).
Uselessness gave silver arrow, which was nice since I didnt have all that much stuff i wanted to throw in D49..
D50 was a horrible struggle, should have had more PP restoring items..Magic Missiled the first rooms and the switched to Ball-spells when the balors came out.
One note is that the worms spouting from your flesh is a horrible corruption for wizards, your God does not approve balling these little buggers :mad:
So cleared D50 handled the handles, whee, victory.

On the way up cleared the giant vault and killed the cat lord. Did the unicorn quest and left the Chain for eternal glory.

Congratulations! I want to play a real spellcaster sometime, too. Most of the time my wizards end as melee/missile fighters who use a spell every now and then... maybe that's why I never won with any (exapt a trollish necromancer who was just too good in melee to die x-) )
