Definitely the easiest class to do this with, although I find humans a little tricky. Started with mediocre learning and fairly crappy gear but 3 talents and decent toughness, so what the hell. Read one starting book (neutralize poison) and casted that continuously to keep concentration going. Read the other book (frost bolt) around clvl 6. Starting to run out of bolt spells fairly early, but luckily I'd found a poisonous orc knife and used that + darkness to conserve spells. Incidentally, I hit a karmic lizard in the dark and was cursed for most of the dive down. Later picking up uncontrolled teleportitis also made life somewhat difficult. Finally removed curse with a karmic dragon corpse on I:56, dove down to SIL and converted an altar. (Had taken off some eq to do this and almost got killed by a bat. =P) Sadly, Malakai was too fast to sac, so I killed him in the dark (while teleporting randomly around the level :/).

Corruption, I would assume. Corruption is quite nasty in the low levels of the ID, and a set of bad ones could probably ruin an Ironman run quite easily.

What is your approx. winrate with ironman runs? Also, what do you think the best race for the challenge?

Yeah, corruption - not just background but also from eating chaos rats and such, cause beggars can't be choosers.

Umm... my win rate is probably sthing horrible. Maybe 10%? There are just so many potential insta-kills.

Best race is easily drakeling. Other than that, well... I consider food pres a must-have for this, so that leaves hurthling, human, and troll unless you get it from class.
