View Full Version : Possible Challenges for Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve?

First of all, thanks to gut for the insanely fun arena challenge. I know another challenge might be sudden, but is anyone interested in a Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve challenge?

I was thinking we could do something similar to the Creator's Day 2013 Roman Republic challenge:


-Anyone interested in participating generates a random character on July 2nd. They immediately post the .vlg, and can play the first 2000 turns. Afterward, post the savegame, plus .vlg updating your progress, and a brief description of what you've been up to.

-Any other player can "claim" that character by saying so on the forums. If two players try to claim at the same time, whichever one officially posted first on the board will be given precedence. They will then play that character for 2000 (or maybe 4000?) turns, and repost/report their results. This is entirely first-come-first serve, except that:
--You can't play the same character twice in a row.
--You can't claim two characters at once.
--If I feel that someone is really abusing the system and others aren't getting a fair chance, I may ask you to take a rest for awhile.

-If the character dies, they are simply eliminated from the pool. If a character dies under your watch, you aren't penalized unless:
--You attempted to deliberately sabotage or murder the character. In this case, you will be removed from the player roster and the character will be regenerated from the previous save.


The version would be prerelease 20, for maximum consistency.

I propose the following additions for each of the days:

Christmas Eve:
You must join the holiday cheer by giving Christmas presents to the Terinyo Populace! Before you are allowed to enter the CoC, you must give the following:
6 bits of candy to the children
2 outlaw or other bounty corpses to Tywat Pare
2 tools or 2 seeds to the farmers
2000 gold to the goodwives

New Year's Eve:
Being the high spirited person you are, you crave for alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.
You must immediately drink every booze potion you come across, including your starting 6 potions of booze.

If the challenges sound too easy/hard/weird, any additional/alternate additions are welcome!

I love the New Year's Eve one--it's just a small challenge, but it changes wand use quite a bit. And imagine trying to clear a vault while having to constantly drink every potion of booze the monsters dropped. Heck, the poison hands corruption might actually be halfway desirable, because if you pick it up and it's poison, then it's not booze and you don't have to chug it. Or even worse: If you pick it up and turn it into poison, you have to chug it anyway. Bon appetit!

There's a famous succession game of Dwarf Fortress that is played only by players who are, IRL, drunk. That might be an interesting thing to do on New Year's. Or, y'know, funny, anyway.

Christmas Eve... meh. I don't think that's really much of a challenge; it's just collecting stuff until you have enough. Though, I suppose it could be made into a contest, see who can do it in the least number of turns. Make people do random character generation and disallow the Rich line of talents to keep people from just starting with the money.

I have another idea for Christmas:
Your character is SO generous that they simply will never keep any money for themselves. Any money you pick up or get from selling things or get in any other way must immediately be given to the next monster you see. And no, throwing it at them at high velocity doesn't count. I don't know if all monsters will accept gold you give them, but I'm pretty sure most do--humanoids do, anyway. Even hostile ones. Oh, yeah, that includes really dangerous hostile ones. And you have to stand right next to them to give them the cash. Have fun. :P

Playing the game without ever using money, except to give it away, might be an interesting challenge. I think I'm going to try it.

Yeah that money idea might actually be a better challenge while still fitting in with the Christmas Holiday theme. Keep those ideas coming!

And I did ask that the characters be randomly generated. Good point about the Rich talents-they shouldn't be allowed. Maybe suggest extra gifts for the citizens of the outlaw town, high mountain village, and Dwarftown. I mean, the holiday cheer is worldwide right?

I'm all for fated characters in every way, it is one of the features that makes ADOM the best thing ever to play for me.

Edit - May we attempt to destroy the booze? I'm hoping no, because we are craving it. You may not even destroy it 'accidently'. So, I would say as soon as you can see booze you must get to it and pick it up and chug it.

No, you must immediately drink it. I think that poison hands should not be used to get around the challenge, so you must drink the potion even if it turns into poison. And yeah, you must get to the booze and drink it.

Also, unless someone has any better ideas for the Christmas Eve challenge, I think I'm going to change it to the "give all the money you got" challenge. It definitely changes things-no money for shops, garth, or precrowning. I'm probably going to be rolling up a char for the Christmas eve one on Tuesday, and allow someone to carry it on via Roman Republic style.

Bear in mind the save incompatibility in 1.2.0 between 32/64-bit and possibly Linux/Windows/Mac.

Aside from this, I'd all in for another RRC game.

Okay, should we pass characters every 2000 turns, or every 4000 turns? I personally like 4000, just so people have a bit more freedom. Feel free to suggest anything else, though.

Here are the (tentative) rules:
You may not play 2 characters at once.
You can not claim two 4000-turn (or whatever) periods in a row. You *may*, however, play the same character if you have not played the char in the last 4000-turn period *and* there are no other claims that have been made by players that have not played this character.
Claiming is a first come, first serve basis.
Please post the vlg, the savegame, and a quick log of your progress when your turn is up.
All characters who dies are removed from the pool, UNLESS the player in charge deliberately killed that character. If that is the case, you will be barred from this challenge and the character will be restored from the previous save.
The Christmas Eve challenge:
Roll a random character on December 24th. Because that character has a purely generous spirit, he has no need for money in his adventure. You must give away (or attempt to) all gold you acquire through any means to the nearest monster (hostile or nonhostile). You must stand next to the monster to give the cash, so no throwing gold is allowed.

Should we condense all RRC chars in the same thread, or make a new thread for each character?

Do most of you guys play a Mac or a Windows? We can probably set up some chars for both platforms to help combat compatibility problems.

Bear in mind the save incompatibility in 1.2.0 between 32/64-bit and possibly Linux/Windows/Mac.

I'm not buff on these challenge games myself, but that must be a real killjoy. I would RFE replacing this behavior with a prompt saying the save was generated on another OS, which could potentially cause problems, and any bugs possibly found with it should be tested with a "pure" PC before reporting. Then allow the player to load it nonetheless. That might be a good middle point.

Alright, since it's Christmas Eve already for some of you folks, I've attached a random character.

This is Thorin, a female dwarven bard randomly generated on a Windows machine, and the spirit of Christmas was with him.

A terinyo child was the recipient of Thorin's starting 180 gold pieces.
Being his loving companion, his pet cave bear was the recipient of most of Thorin's gold.
His first kill was a mugger, for those of you who are interested in ultras and courage quest.
He got the sheriff, healer, and tiny girl quest.
The first 4000 turns was spent in the villiage dungeon to get healing, where the rng was in the mood of giving with a stone club of lightning.
After getting healing, Thorin went straight to the unremarkable dungeon, where he almost got killed by a lesser vault and had to use both of his prayers to heal up.
His cave bear pet got killed by a lightning lizard, but Thorin managed to tame said lizard, who became a much better pet! The lesser vault is on UD:1 for those who are interested in finishing it.

I look forward to the next claimer's report!

P.S. A way we can get around computability issues for future games is using the ADOM server. Somebody creates an account, plays the first 4k turns, and gives password to the claimer to pass down the character when finished. How does that sound?

Merry Christmas & claimed!

Here's a short summary of the events of my turns:
- rename Thorin to Thorina because she's a girl
- rename lightning lizard pet to Sparky Bro
- give 114 coins to Sparky Bro
- start training slings
- reach level 7 while clearing an orc threatroom on UD3
- drop some rather useless stuff to remove burdened status
- clear orc chieftain threatroom on D5, thus reach level 8
- clear lesser orc vault on D5, thus reaching level 9 and lerning 'Quick' talent, reaching level 10
- find lots on nice loot, including padded mithril chainmail (-1, -3) [-2, +7] and large adamantium hammer (+1, 1d10+8) that I start using
- remember Christmas and give almost 4000 gold to Sparky Bro
- melee a green hag and get cursed... damn!
- Blink dog on UD 6... won't kill him because he's friendly and it's Christmas
- clear Ogre threat room on UD6
- river on UD7, but luckily the stairs are on our side
- scout the rest of our riverside and save at 6000 turns

All in all I am very happy with Thorina's progress! Got some very nice additions to her equipment, also alot of still unidentified stuff. That green hag was a little anoying... can they really curse a char? Or did she just curse one piece of equipment?
By the way, I kept carrying alot of more expensive equipment. I thought maybe it's okay to sell it at a shop and directly buy new stuff from the profit? Don't know...

There already are "league1" and "league2" accounts on both servers. They actually once supported save preservation (for the sake of the Weakest Link) but we don't need that one.

I have noticed the game often says "the -foo- curses you" without that actually happening.

You do realize it's up to turn 8000, since it's every 4000 turns right? And epic fail on Thorin and the character story on my part-misread the char as a male.

Buying stuff is not allowed, as you are supposed to immediately give all gold you receive to the nearest creature.

Look forward to _Ln_'s report!

Will the league accounts on the server work for my challenges, or does they have additional restrictions?

Thanks! :-) Didn't read about the 4000 turns, but actually 2000 was just perfect for me. Spent most of the day with my family, so there was not very much time to play ;-)
I'm also looking forward to Thorina's future adventures! Let's try to make her win that game!

Finally played.

Reached UD:8, lost all our pets, ID'd equipment, reached HMV, ate oracle, removed doom via UD:8 altar.

Precrowned with an incredible power item which I am sure will help as along our long trek to save Ancardia. Namely Shezetriakis, a.k.a. gauntlets of eternal suck.

At least I found 7lb and blessed them.
There's also a blessed PoGA in inventory which we may delay till herbs from the Big Room.

I've killed a stone giant lord in HMV (while doomed, no less), apparently there is another one (he's neutral though).
Also, we don't have any food, so the next player should rush somewhere to get some food.

And this is what happened during my second claim:
- rejoyced to see Thorina again :-)
- mourn over the loss of Sparky Bro :-(
- Rejoyce that Thorina has not got any money to give to the stone giant lord :-)
- leave the High Mountain Village through the secret shortcut
- explore DDL on search for food... iron ration, hurthling cake and giant rat corpse! That's a beginning! Fire Vortex threatens our wonderfull Leathery Bros but suffers a stoning
- Fight some orcs in the wilderness, pick up an uncursed leather girdle weighting 15s and find out it's a girdle of carrying! Holy crap, almost skipped it!
- get a large ration from a skelleton patrol... food problem solved for the moment :-)
- enter the CoC and give 29 coins to a female goblin... nice little fellow doesn't even attack me
- find pool on D1, but I skip it for the moment
- clear a trap room with rats, thus reaching level 12 and learning the 'Careful' talent
- give 72 coins to a friendly ratling thief... it's Christmas, so he shouldn't have to work today
- herbs on D3, secure three 2x2 patterns, sadly just three different kinds of herbs... let's hope it's good stuff at least! Take samples so we can identify them later
- outrun aggressive cave lion which still roams D3, so take care! Last seen in the upper one of the long horizontal corridors (the one with the closed door)
- eat a spider corpse and install poison resistance
- Arena on D4, no money, so sadly no ratling food :-(
- pool on D5
- Big Room on D6, secure two stable but non-harvestable patterns... with some effort this could become a nice herb guarden later on
- give 118 coins to a poor-looking rat... still looks poor, so I kill it as an act of mercy
- drop our Leathery Bros before I clear a room full of red worms
- find a super-cool longbow of accuracy (+2, +8) and start training with it
- pick up the Si on D8
- drop Leathery Bros again before fighting a group of a lesser daemon and a chaos lizard... these boots really make me paranoid!
- Dwarftown on D9, Thrundarr wants us to kill a Doppelganger Lord... fuck you! Waldi's got a spellbook of Frost Bolt among others... might want to steal this later... already stacked the nice items plus food on the square north-east of the entrance ;-)
- D10 has got a lesser vault with Gnolls and Hyenas
- find another potion of gain attributes!
- give more than 2k coins to Hyena so hopefully it can get itself a haircut and some shampoo... kill it directly afterwards. I've cleared the biggest part of the vault when I reach turn 14000 and save

Nice, nice, guys! This girl can really do it! Let's keep the concentration up and win this game!

I played a short turn, hadn't got time to finish 4k.

First thing I did was prune inventory and drink PoGAs. Then I went back to the surface and did pyramid and griffyard. Pyramid had a gorgon, was taken out with wand of lightning.

Found an ordinary ring, but it is slaying or damage.

- outrun aggressive cave lion which still roams D3, so take care! Last seen in the upper one of the long horizontal corridors (the one with the closed door)

I'm not sure, but I may have killed a cave lion during piety grinding due to a certain feeling that Gordon already failed on his turn. Which makes no sense as the char is a bard :( Realized it just now reading the quoted report.

I was spectating Ln when he 'accidentally' killed that lion. Just before killing it, he gave it 666 gold pieces. Don't believe his excuses.

- rejoice to see Thorina again
- check her kitty karma and rejoyce that it's still perfectly clean
- recognize that our Sis are gone... could have used them for saccing, couldn't we?
- next aim: Outlaw Settlement!
- lure Skriek to Terinyo, then assassinate Hotzenplotz and his bodyguards
- give 4468 coins to Barnabas
- back in Terinyo I find our bear buddy Rudolph still alive and well... rejoyce!
- get and equip the marble amulet to prepare crowning
- start barbarian quest... at this point we have killed just one single mugger, but maybe we run across a threat room in the future ;-)
- enter the Pyramid to see if the climbing set is still there... it isn't. Where the hell did you put it, grobblewobble?
- find it (or maybe another climbing set) on the top level of the dwarven graveyard x-)
- back to the CoC... hope we still got some piety from precrowning, so I drink the pool on D1... small frog, inflexible will, nothing, another small frog, depressive... well, maybe drink the rest later
- clear lesser kobold vault on D2
- find some bracers of speed on the way... nice
- give 289 coins to a rabid dog
- run into a fireball trap :-o Luckily our Leathery Bros survive
- sacc some monsters on the Dwarftown altar to remove doom, finish portal quest and then dive deeper
- finish the Gnoll vault on D10 and find a nasty Quarterstaff of Devestation (+0, 5d11+6)... will train with it a little
- give 241 coins to a dark orc
- eat an ankheg corpse, thus installing acid resistance
- reach level 15 and learn the 'Defensive Fighter' Talent
- almost get a heart attack when I run into an acid trap... did I mention I hate 7LBs?
- save and finish my claim at turn 20000, standing right on the downstairs of D12

Sorry, I wrote my report in a hurry and forgot to mention that I left a climbing set, a spellbook of fire bolt and the manual of bridge building on top of the up stairs of D:1. That climbing set I left in the dwarven graveyard was the second one, from the pyramid.

And: claim..

I went back to dwarftown to bless water. I also read a scroll of identify and discovered two wands of teleportation in the inventory!
As well as a wand of cold.
We have teleport control, so I talked to the mystic and received the dwarven rune axe.
Then I dived.
There was a lesser jelly vault somewhere but I left it.
The dwarven halls are very safe, with stairs close together.
I talked to the old sage and said goodbye.
In the CoC graveyard I gained one toughness from a wight corpse, but lost two strength to vampires.
The water temple was easy, made an ice bridge and took out the snake in melee after stunning him with a potion of cure poison.
Cooked its corpse with a wand of fireballs.
Then I went back to Dwarftown. I sacrificed the Sword of Nonnak and Moonsickle. We're still at "very close".

Done.
Drained 1 pool in CoC - lost +Lucky, dried out. Started to sip another, restored Lucky, gained -Death, remembered that we still need to pass the arena, so stopped sipping.
Went to Guth, exchanged Snake corpse for PoCC.
Cleared Puppy Cave, secured coprse - nothing of interest there.
Went to UD:8 to grind piety for crowning. Spent time digging and sacrificing monsters. I have a suspicion that our deity messages are wrong again and we can pray for crowning already despite "very close". I might be wrong though.

Learned Swimming from Blup. Apparently we don't have a single waterproof blanket and I lost some scrolls while crossing the wilderness river.
I removed all our artifacts except AMW to decrease food consumption.

Ate morgia, used moss, drank carrot juice, ate a stone giant - +4 To, +3/4 Wi, +1 St, +3 Pe.

- rejoyce that our heroine is still doing so well
- continue to dig and sacc untill HP are regenerated
- pray... crowning indeed! Lightning immunity, Trusted One. Could have been worse! Somehow I would now like to wish for concentration, equip Shezestriakis and become a super-spellcaster ;-)
- pick up SoCR from the High Mountain Village
- give 42 coins to a wolf
- enter the Tomb of the High King
- ants, forge and a neutral altar on UC1... one ant drops a PoCC :-) Vortex message before I descent
- drop some semi-useful stuff and remember our good ol' Leathery Bros
- forge on UC2
- fight a Gorgon on UC3 ... rejoyce that we got Trusted One
- reach level 17
- river blocks downstairs on UC3 ... teleport to the other side, using our last casting of on-demand-teleportation
- give 16 coins to a female raider
- another river on UC4... but there's a space where it's just one square wide, so I decide to swim
- at least that's what I would have done if not a black wizard had summoned a dozen dwarven chaos knights on the other side... archery training!

- successfully retreat to the corridor... reach level 18 while berserking skelettal warriors with the quarterstaff, chose 'Dodger', get the spells Heal, Darkness, Lightning Bolt and Teleport (YES!!!)

Apparently we need to tame the big room for some reason, so I got it done. I also killed Barnabas because I needed a hexagonal key to seal a door and he had one. Sold the cute dog corpse to Munxip and gave him his money back.

Found bracers of toughness +4.

I think I'll play the booze drinking challenge on my own, but to make it very interesting I'll drink all potions I find before moving from the tile I find them on. :) No dipping, kicking, throwing or destroying with magic of potions allowed only uncursing and drink that baby.

Edit - This is odd. I random rolled a book born female human weaponsmith and my system clock indicates that it is the 1st of January. There is no booze in her inventory?

I thought you guys said one starts with booze when generating a character on the 1st January?

Slowly but surely it's getting serious! Claim!

And this is what happened during my turns:
- rejoyce about my first turns with Thorina in 2014 :-)
- due to lack of options and no interest in scumming for a doppelganger lord: decide to scrap the wand of fireballs and just dive through the dwarven halls
- well, D13 was not yet scouted, so do that first
- stare into a familiar face... damn, just an ordinary doppelganger :-/
- outrun a pussy cause kitty karma is still clean (rejoyce!)
- realize we don't have no teleport control yet... that's not good
- mixed tension room on D14... sadly no doppelganger lord either
- two downstairs on that level, so fuck that quest once and for all!
- but first: lesser jelly vault... loot is not very spectacular
- also a lawful altar on D14
- south-eastern downstairs lead to the animated forest, western downstairs lead to the dwarven halls
- finish of the bee hive on D14 and descend to the halls... now things are getting exciting!
- even more exciting since we don't have any means to recharge our wand of monster detection... cross your fingers, guys!
- apparently I'm not the first one who crossed these halls... damn, we already killed the snake... where's that goddamn doppelganger that confused me???
- scout D16... finishing off a lighning vortex with our wand of cold
- D19 is the next truely unexplored level... got some serious trouble finding the secret room with the downstairs
- D22 has a lesser golem vault... kill the first couple golems and reach my last turn

All in all nothing too spectacular happened. I found some nice little items (potions, rings, amulets...) and since I am not very good at IDing by names, I have no clue what they do. Our char feels like a real powerhouse and it's quite a challange not to get overconfident ;-) Anyway, we can do it! For the spirit of Christmas! Rejoyce!

Cleared the vault. Noticed we have the super nice acid blood corruption, not sure when we gained it.

Mapped dungeon levels down to the wall of flames. Cleared another golem vault along the way. Also found a ring shop. Killed the shopkeeper without any problems.

Found a PoGA, drank it. Also drank a potion of toughness, a potion of quickling blood and a troll blood.

Met a giant slug, killed it with our bow of hunting. And sure enough, it dropped corpse. Ate it. Not sure what our crowning immunity was again?

Went back to the surface, stopping in dwarftown to bless water and sacrifice the hammer of the gods. This cured our cursed status (from shop robbing).

Read an unidentified spellbook, we learned fireball.

And.. discovered a ring of djinni summoning in our inventory. Blessed it and kept it intact for the next player.

Excellent job, grobblewobble! Our crowning immunity was lightning, so now we already have two immunities plus cold from the ancient mummy wrapping... sounds wonderful to me!

And here is the summery of the action:
- getting back into Christmas mood... rejoyce!
- so happy to play with Thorina again that I decide to do the tower... equip tower equipment!
- missing fireproof blanket, so I wish for rings of ice... with two blessed ones I guess I can even wear our leathery bros in the tower
- an arrow get's burned, so even with two rings there is apparently no 100% protection... and one more arrow, and one more, and one more, and an amulet of light, and our blessed nasty quarterstuff of devestation! Saaaaaaadness :-( And our cloak of protection [+0, +6]! Saaaaaadness :-( And one more arrow
- gets quite some damage while fighting a fire elemental
- get a tower eternium shield from one of the fireproof rattlesnakes from this tension room on TF2
- tension room with fireproof dwarven chaos knights on TF4
- empty our wands of cold against a fire giant king
- dig to the inner temple and start fighting the elementals and after quite a while finally get recognized by the ACW
- try to stun him behind meatshield, but sadly 5 bouncing blasts were all shrugged
- cursed potion of invisibility works... now pierce him with 9 blessed dragon slaying arrows... after seven shots (two hits) he's down... rejoyce!
- on the way out one pair of bracers of toughness gets burned

Have to get up early, so I will play my remaining turns tomorrow!

So, this is the second session of my turns! Let's see...

- rejoyce to have another dance with our wonderful heroine!
- think it's best to go for a streight gate-closing, so back into the CoC
- accidentally equip boots of the slow shuffle [-6, +0]... well, that kinda sucks!
- try to get them dusted, but convert the altar on D26 to L instead :-/
- Haha, but at least I see that we have amazing piety! Pray and get rid of these crap boots :-) Rejoooyce!
- peacefully pass the eternal guardian
- reach lvl 22 while clearing a lesser golem vault on D:30
- find and equip a red dragon scale mail
- short time later my turns are done! I guess with a little equipment boost from the casino we will definitely be strong enough to finish this run rather quickly :-)

You gonna love this guys.

Cleaned the vault finding another RDSM.

Went to Casino, hoarded all decent items to a pile several tiles to the N from the shopkeep. Items include an artifact staff (don't know which one), Perion's mail (meh) and a lot of decent items. Since we don't have an amulet of balance (3 of them are in the casino pile though :/), I didn't rob it fearing dropping from L (alignment hit in 1.2 is pretty damn powerful).

I've dived to D:47 scouting everything and claiming RoTMC.
Long story short.
Stairs to DFG are on the next level below casino.
D:35 - greater vault (fire, 8 wyrms)
D:40 - Air Temple
D:41 - greater vault (undead, 1 lich emperor)
D:42-46 (forgot levels in all excitement) greater vault (giants), greater vault (fire, 1 wyrm)

You heard it right, 4 greater vaults.

Our char has zero item detection, so I have zero information about what artifacts are there.
Vault levels have entrances very close to stairs, so don't go opening any of them.

I had to use a PoCC to remove babbling mouth corruption (because it's simply terrible on no-Concentration char).

Icing on the cake? A random chaos eye dropped the scorched spear :D

I've switched RDSM for an eternium plate mail, so don't go hunting red vaults without changing.
And we need Frost Bolt badly. I mean really badly.

I went back to Casino - it may be a really good idea to rob it despite possible fall from champion status, because the char has zero useful items.

So here's the action of my claim:

- don't want to grind for an amulet of balance, so that shop's gonna be robbed right now! Equip a ring of teleport control cause I'm not sure if we have got the intrinsic...

- lure the shopkeeper some steps into the shop, teleport out, retreat to the upstairs, equip a blessed amulet of balance and prepare to fight the casino crew.
- don't pay attention when suddenly Hugo stands in front of me... get heavily hit for more than 150 points of damage, teleport away, drink a potion of extra healing, rush to the downstairs and descent
- find out that we don't have holy water... need an altar sooner or later
- adamantium longsword of devestation (+0, 5d8+11)!!! Rejoooooyce :-)
- tower eternium shield (-1) [+13, +8]!!! Rejooooooyce :-))
- get rid of a whooole lot of stuff to get below burdened... if you miss anything in particular, it's at D33 downstairs
- now let's go for that greater fire vault!
- give about 3k gold to a fire drake... don't forget about the rules, dudes ;-)
- reach level 24 and learn shield specialist
- fire elementals fight us down to 150 HP... decide rather to use construct slayers from a distance
- find a black dragon scale mail
- lure the ancients and the Wyrms to D34 to fight them one on one with slaying ammo and 7LBs
- reach level 25... appraising, bridge building, cooking and two-weapon combat... jackpot, rejoyce x-D
- eat an ancient red dragon for ST+1
- kill the Wyrm and reach levels 26, 27, 28 and 29 learning Shield Expert... that's one nice HP boost! Also eat the corpse for MA+1
- get another point of ST from an ancient's corpse... longbow of hunting for the win ;-) Now bloated, but the Wyrm had dropped a cooking set x-)
- white worms in the top part of D34... keep them away with a door before I lure up the second Wyrm
- damn bloody imp opened the door while I'm fighting the Wyrm... anooooying!
- but rejooooyce, finally kill him an reach levels 30, 31 and 32, learning Shield Master
- find and read a tome... Strength of Atlas! Not bad :-)
- kill yet another wyrm and reach levels 33 and 34, learning Good Shot and getting some nice stat increases
- next wyrm gives levels 35 and 36, learning keen shot and again getting some stat increases... aaaaand the wyrm dropped a RoDS! Now we really need holy water :-)
- next one, levels 37, 38 and 39, learning quick shot and increasing stats again
- an ancient red dragon gives level 40 and another lot of stat increases
- another ancient gives level 41
- one more wyrm for level 42 and very quick, then my claim is over... rejoooooyce :-)

To the left of Thorina there's the loot from the last wyrm that I have not checked yet, to the right of her there are still a couple of dragon slayers on the ground that might be very helpful to continue with this vault. We're running a little short on slayers, so during the last fights I surrounded the wyrms several times to pick up the ammunition. C'mon, guys, this run is as good as won!

Yeah, would be great is someone would continue our girl's quest! She started her adventure more than a month ago and so far she is doing extremely well. I think she really deserves a victory :-) Would claim myself, but I was the last player, so I am not allowed to directly play again.

e: Just keep in mind that it's a cherity challange. If she picks up any gold, she has to directly walk towards the next living being and give him/her/it the gold.

Thorina looks do be doing really well i would play but as i have 0 experience with that part of adom i think ill get one of my toons there first. sadly very promising paladin tele'd to down stairs and into a banshee scream only had one stack of wax that i used to pass the lvl the first time should have killed her then.

Yeah, congratulations to all of us and... well... merry Christmas :-) Don't know, was this the first time this specific challenge was done? I think it's a very nice one for people who seek a rather light extra-challenge.

Also it's quite cool that we stayed below 70k turns... no bad performance at all!

Yeah, this was the first time this challenge was done. I kinda liked the drink all booze challenge, but I don't think that would generate much interest. Now go do Jane so she can rest in peace in some way!

Man, all those vaults held an insane number of crappy artifacts, what a bummer. Practically Grod + Nature's Companion + RoR? Good job RNG.
