I think elementalist is a very weird class to play. A spellcaster who doesn't find books just doesn't seem to work. The class powers seem like just mana-inefficient ways to do things that a spellcaster should be able to do. I was incredibly lucky this game to find 4 pairs of 7LB, 3 RoDS, 2 AoLS, and an adamantium spear of devastation, which meant that I could poke most things that stood in my way, even on D50.

This is also the first game I tried kicking altars, I kicked black ones for safety reasons, then a white one after I closed the gate just to see what would happen. I have to say the lawful god has no sense of humor, he destroyed all my stuff upon the first kick of his altar, which took away my very nice eternium gear (courtesy of a chaos knight threat room) and my spear. The C god just cursed my stuff and tried to kill me with a bolt.

Yeah, in principle they seem vastly inferior to the other spellcasting classes. Congrats on the win.

One thing I've always wondered. What does that "... while saving herself x times." thing mean?
It's probably horribly simple, but I've never worked it out...

It means that you didn't win without saving the game!
If you do that, you will get the line "... without even stopping
to save himself." even if your PC is a gal. Wierd.

In other words, that you have a lot of time to play all at once and are playing on a very stable version of ADOM ;)

I do love elementalists. They work a lot better for my playstyle. I find them to be way more efficient at offensive magic than wizards. Not so much because of raw power... but mostly because you always have castings of powerful spells when the situation becomes dire. (that's only true if you find a decent weapon to kill less threatening foes w/o using up your castings)

By the endgame burning hands is just ridiculously overpowered. And elementalists are the class that probably is gonna use them more since there are guaranteed castings and by the endgame they probably have casted it more than most wizzys.

But congrats for the win.
