ADOM II needs access to adom.de to play?

Greetings,

I am a new player of ADOM and a very excited enthusiast of ADOM II. I tried years ago to play ADOM but just couldn't wrap my mind around the controls. Anyway, long story short I'm back and giving these awesome games another go. However, when I try to run ADOM II it wants to connect to http://www.adom.de and there are security measures that block this from happening. I managed to disable this security and get the game to run.

My question is: Can I get ADOM II on my laptop to where there is no internet connection required?

You need an internet connection the first time you run the adom-ii.jnlp file. Once you run that, a green ADOM II shortcut should show up on your desktop. Running ADOM II from this shortcut does not require an internet connection.

Yes, I did get the green shortcut. However, when I try and run it it still wants to connect to adom.de. When it finds out it cant it shuts down.

Odd; when I run it from the shortcut I get the security warning, but after clicking the run button it still works with no internet. I'd suggest running it a few more times with an internet connection. Other than that I don't know how to help; ADOM II has a really weird install process :(
