Lost a promising HE mindcrafter - OK, still only level 10, but things were looking good - to a lowly ghost yesterday. Not for any good reason, just expecting it to be a quick fight so my finger was somewhat on autopilot:
*enter Big Room*
Hmm, okay I have a !oInvis which I'll use to escape any mobs and find the stairs, let's just have a look about.
*goes about half way across room before seeing any monsters - just a ghost, on its own*
Well, I'll just quickly splat that, there's nothing to mob me so I'll save my invisibility in case something dangerous appears. I'm an elf so I don't really care about aging...
"You hit the ghost and critically damage it! The ghost critically hits you! You age!"
*signal goes from brain to finger to press '1' again to finish it off*
*looks at bottom of screen*
"H: 1 (39)"
*shouts "nooooo!"
*signal reaches finger*
"You miss the ghost. The ghost hits you! You age! You die..."
Seriously though, I didn't know ghosts could hit so hard. I'd cleared two vaults (kobolds then orcs including a lot of scorchers/chieftains) earlier in melee with nothing like that damage.
