View Full Version : A truly glorious day. My first victory. Ratling Priest.

Normal ending for a neutral ratling priest. Was kinda disappointed that killing Fistanarius didn't show up in the ending log since I deliberately killed everybody instead of using the wand of door/monster creation option which felt a little cheap.

In the beginning I got crowned with fire immu and Purifier which was a welcome gift from the RNG. I then got postcrowned with Justifier which was just a hilarious slap in the face (Biskup literally just removed Justifier as a priest crowning gift in p20). The UD also gifted me an AoLS tho so that felt generous as well.

One of the biggest early-game scares I had was passing the Animated Forest for Thrundarr, where I chose to take the shortcut. There I opened the very first door into the next room, boom, tension room, first creature quickling queen. I zapped a wand of tele (no control) and just got the hell out of there. Luckily I found the down staircase and there I managed to create a long-time bro.

He was an emperor lich who travelled alongside me until I was L30. He helped me greatly in many a tricky situation. For example he killed another emperor lich I resurrected with grave robbing, and he also helped me clear a red dragon vault at ca D:30, when I was still somewhere around L22. As a result of our teamwork (and me last-hitting the named wyrm) I rose to L30 and almost forgot to tackle the Minotaur Maze. Before diving past the Casino I figured I'd clear out the Assassin Prince's dungeon where my Magic Missile bounced into my highly experienced bro and he became agitated. I teleported out of there, never to return.

I got two wishes during the game. The first was from a RoDS that I looted from a threat room of black dragons on ToEF: 4 (which was interesting enough since I was around L18, forced to be without the companion that I relied on quite heavily back then, battling a bunch of acid breathers in a fiery environment). I instantly used the ring for PoCC because I was feeling very weak against the ACW. One of those, a cursed invis potion and some slaying ammo got me through that situation (not easily though). My second wish came from a RoDS somewhere around D:46 which I used on 7LB.

I splattered a cat in the VDDL as I frustratedly raced around a corner, so I also had to kill the Cat Lord when I met him. I was never overjoyed with my rings so that was a little sad I guess. My rings were never much more than just utility (tele control, resistances, regen) based on what I needed at any point in the game.

The Mana Temple was probably the most difficult place for me since I had wasted away my Acid Bolts and had no humanoid slayers at all (and even though the Wiki lists Nuurag as demonic, he is unaffected by demon slayers). I threw both my PoCC at him (one missed) and basically just spent a long-ass time Magic Missiling him. I used up most of my PoEH/PoUH and all my spenseweed. Eventually he fell though. I was L39 after that, never bothered with the dragons around that area and just went for D:50 which worked out well.

As for equipment, I got Purifier and Big Punch very early and alternated between them based on my opposition for the entire game. For most of the game I used scurgari, alongside bows and crossbows based on necessity, until the rune-covered trident got delivered at L37. All I got to say about that is lol balors. I wore the AMW for the entire game since it's a nice utility armor and nothing spectacular came along.

Aight, good game, thanks for reading, maybe I'll try some ultra stuff now but first I'm taking a break. This was overall a pretty tense experience.

This log adequately records how I left the Drakalor Chain to take my place as king of my homeland, but regrettably it doesn't even mention an old friend who remained - the emperor lich, successor of the assassin prince as ruler of a dusty dungeon.

You could just post them in 3 different posts (2 might be enough as well). Just copy and paste the 3 equal parts into code tags, cutting out from one post into the next if the character limit is reached. It's more accessible that way, and you don't have to cut anything since it is posted in three posts. Congratulations on the win, I thought the emperor lich would kill you eventually. He may have wanted to be your friend forever if you didn't magic missile him, turns out that you betrayed him rather than the other way around.

Yeah I was under the same impression since that's what was originally said in the guidebook. It's actually kind of an amusing story cause I was on my way to the Rift and figured I might as well take a look at the ruined city (never been to the maze before), maybe there'd be some loot or I could at least kill the guardian there. So I went there, then I figured I might as well open up the secret door and take a look at the staircase. Then I figured I might as well press > and see what message it generates to deny me entry. You can imagine my surprise when the environment changed.
