I've just got this thing for the first time ever - how good is it on non-Paladins? Is it worth using for the slaying properities at all, or does the halving just make it rubbish? Are you just better off with say Rolf's Companion vs undead or demons?

On non-paladins, it's terrible. You can experiment with it a bit if you want, but I can almost guarantee you'll be disappointed. Best to sell/sac.
