trying out deulist

ok guys the last 20 odd games i have tried out deulist (drakeling) and its a tricky hero to play.
mayb its a coincidence but i always get girdles of carrying which i bless and equip.
so there was this promising character which i got all the way till acw with ring of ice blessed fp blanket and an eternium sword (and sword of nonnak)
and the montojja gloves ankh eternium shield not encumbrace but was not e1 able to toouch him (ok moderately injured i guess) also i was very fast being a drakeling in toef and all..so where did go wrong? it was also sword star sign i was lvl 19 and lvl 10 on my swords. shud i consign myself to using a scroll of familiar summoning? (i had 3!!)

I have a lot of trouble understanding what you're asking. But, from what you've said, you tried to use a shield but were possibly expecting class powers to help you? Well, a shield deactivates class powers - by the time you're doing TOEF, it's about time to ditch the shield. No one can really tell you what went wrong without seeing your character.

I think e1 is supposed to be everyone, but it....makes zero sense in the context of that sentence, so I don't know.

You probably just needed more healing - on a duelist, the ACW will go down pretty easy with a few criticals (you just need to have FW at 100 and wait for them). Did you have the water orb & equipped?

i had max hp around 160 and my hp on my last turn was 75-85 dont remember exactly so didnt want to pray or use orb. my fw was close to 100 or exactly 100 again dont remember but it seemed like it wasnt hurting him. also i made a blunder that i dndt carry healing potions cause i didnt want to get encumbered and i am used to playing barbarian which 1 shots acw or a wizard which has acid ball slow monster etc for him

Have you checked your flux capacitor ? To me, the probelm definitly comes from the flux capacitor. Try pushing the power in it gradually to 1.21 gigowatts !

-that HP is insanely low - you needed to work on your To. I've seen Drake *Wizards* with that max HP!
-potions of extra/ultra healing are like *****THE***** most important thing to have in your inventory for the TOEF, especially as a drake who is continuously taking damage - but really, as any class unless you're playing a challenge. POEH/POUH & a digging means are *literally* the only reason you want fire protection for your inventory - and only barely more the latter than the former.
-don't underestimate the ACW.

clear it! that's exactly the situation you have the HMV scroll for, and you can exit the tower at any time.

This is a common way to die. When fighting the ACW you must always keep your health above 100 at the very least, no matter the cost. Keeping it above 150 or 200 is better. Don't be afraid to overuse the water orb here. Corrupted is better than dead.

That's one reason, and his energy rays can one-shot you too. They deal about 100 damage each.

yeah i think the prob with me was that i had lost wt corruption which i was keeping to train my stats. shud have removed it for acw. my max hp was low and hence 1 hit from him wud get me dwn to sub100 hp and so praying seemed inefficient tho in hindsight it wudve been better than death!! oh well yasd i guess

You really should be more polite to people. And when looking up that abbreviation "e1" it meant everyone in sites that had it listed. Everyone -> every1 -> ev1 -> e1. Logical right? For the word even only abbreviation I found was "evn". Not suprising considering it is 4 letter word that hardly needs abbreviation. So imho it's rather rude to go around calling people "villager" when you are yourself using it wrong way.

Offtopic ranting aside. Make sure your body armor does not exceed 250s. Thou if you were wearing eternium armor I doubt that was the case cause only eternium full plate mail exceeds that limit.

I think he's referring to drakelings getting 300-plus speed on the Tower, and thus dodging virtually all energy bolts. Those attacks are non-elemental, so they either miss or hit for full damage, there is no resistance.

just an update: finally finished the game with a deulist using my fav combination: candle starsign and drakeling race. also it helped that i was crowned with executor.
murdered sfb murdered acw murdered asb(using ranged tactics) murdered nublahblahwan cruised thru d50 came back and murdered casino guard and owner , left draklorchain @ lvl50 (i had wand of destruction but wanted lvls). also i had has intrinsic paralysis resistance which was critical since i saw many mimics including hiveminds and also mistakenly berserked stone oozes multiple times
