Ok so im in a bit of a bind i had a white unicorn spawn in the DH and was hoping to be able to sac it in DT(only 3 floors above) so i kited it back up and it decided before i could get it to the alter that it wanted to destroy DT including thundarr and runn and most of the other npcs. i was able to lure the unicorn off the lvl and get away from it but i have a DH that has a rather nasty threat room and only 8 PV so the forest is very dangerous. i was able to pick up a RoDS clearing a vault on D13 so i have that and i decided to save and figure out where to go from here. i wasnt able to complete any of thundarr quests so i dont have /oF to make pyramid a joke atm but i did get my heir gift and have been using that since the start of the game.

any suggestions ill post the log following

Ah, such noble beasts. Evidently disapproved of the Dwarves' degenerate ways with their inns and love of gold.

If it were me, I would probably go for the scummy approach because I always tend to be overprepared. Given the R/C combo you're playing, I guess you're not planning a speedrun :). I would go to the graveyard upper level - usually I find some nice stuff there, especially with pickpocketing. Get the \oTeleport. Pickpocketing & killing everything in the big room should get you some nice loot too (if you're playing one of the newer prereleases it might be a bit too tough though with the crazy monster generation).

After this you should have resources to tackle the pyramid, and the forest is doable with invisibility and a decent number of charges of teleportation. Also I usually crown as early as possible - maybe a precrown would be better as thief crowning gifts look a bit shite.

Not sure about a wish - maybe Find Weakness, or =oTeleControl?

If you can stock up on a few more spenseweed or pepper petals, you're probably fine to do the Pyramid as long as you don't get a really bad spawn. The fireball wand isn't necessary. The low PV is a concern, but because you're a ME, your effective PV is higher (granted your HP is lower...)

You could wish for RDSM. Or maybe blue/blackDSM even since you don't have those resistances. It would probably nearly double your PV and give you the immunity. Is it possible to get around the unicorn on your way back up? Or do you actually have to kill it? It's possible that your wand of web might work on it, I suppose.

If think if you have a decent shield you should be able to do the Pyramid with the penetrating dagger. The armor + ankh will surely make your prospects of survival better ;)

ok well heres an update

i managed to clear out both the pyramid and the giffyard and was able to grind up the piety for a crowning(precrown wasnt an option took druid quest) and i got true aim as my crowning gift as well as acid immune(sad no fire RDSM anyone) still have my wish available and im torn atm between either the AoLS for kelly or RDSM for the tower but i still have alot of ground to cover before the tower and for right now im heading back to the forest i think to find kelly.

Khelly isn't as valuable as it once was, IMHO. In pre23, the corruption rate is low enough that SoCR aren't nearly as important as they used to do. As a ME, you might get some use out of the teleport book, though.

If your PV is up a bit, an additional option is rings/bracers of regeneration. Very, very handy early in the game.

Ok ill keep that in mind still play on p20 as im not a tester right now(hoping to change this soon) i did go ahead and get past him and headed further down and managed to pick up a second RoDS so now i have 2 sitting unused in my bags and RDSM is looking very tempting so are =of regen. funny thing is that at this point the only point in using the elemental gauntlets is to protect my rings when i go into the ToEF as ill most likely have RDSM at the point from 1 of my wishes and i found i lightning lizard corpse in the banshee lvl and was crowned with =acid. also managed to get a blink corpse so i have controlled tele sadly after kelly was dead.

as of right now im lvl 17 and just finished the banshee lvl and need to dive into the water temple on my way back up after i locate the wall of flame. want to be as high a level as possible so as to be able to only have to pass that unicorn 2 more times(once on the way out and once on the way back down) and then ill hopefully just have to finish clearing and will have a win. only thing that scares me right now is ToEF(still a place i take very carefully). but things are looking up for my ME right now.
