View Full Version : Stone circle timing issue

So I have a character all ready to jump into the stone circle at the appropriate time. But I don't have those nice walking boots.

What is the simplest way to get the time just right for entry? And should we RFE it, so you don't need a spreadsheet and calculator to do this?
(sitting on it, going < < < < should be good enough!)

I think pressing 5 takes less time than pressing <. You can miss it if you just hold <, IIRC.

Is it foolproof? I suppose I could make a test myself, not rely on advise from tree hugglers.

I'm so confused. Do you mean '>'?

In any case, using 5 is the better option, yes. The time step is slightly less than an hour, so no you can't miss it. It's not hard to check, though.

I have definitely missed the window in the past by pressing > repeatedly. I didn't realize that pressing 5 also worked to enter the circle.

Yes, meant '>'. I blame dyslexia, pheromones, and rap music. And faulty ECC parity check wetwear.

I'll do the 5 thing then. 5, check time with @, 5, check time, .../

doing 5 @ 5 @ gives me intervals about 1 hour, 9 minutes.

Sometimes more, sometimes less.

My speed is 104, dex 27
1h 20m 33s
2h 24m 33s
3h 33m 33s
4h 38m 33s

Speed 113, dex 27
5h 43m 33s
6h 50m 33s
7h 52m 33s
8h 55m 33s
10h 1m 33s
11h 4m 33s

so the window of time is 1 hr, but the wait time is 1hr +
so there is a chance of missing the window - unless you all have better advice.

Well maybe you can figure out whether you're likely to miss it using math. And, if you are, then do a movement whose time increment is different, until you get out of the danger zone where you're at risk of missing the hour?

yes. But my original question was 'how do I do it without a spreadsheet & calculator'. If the answer is 'you can not' then I want to RFE it. As in, in you wait in the location, and the right time ticks, the game should not screw with you.

So I went ahead and waited, and was not unlucky. Got in, killed the guy, got out. Two levels - but I forgot about his corrupting breath attack. Wow, dangerous!
