Hm, what equipment do you have? What caused you the most trouble in the fight? Energy blasts, melee, or confusion? Or not being able to hit & damage it?

Blessed wands of cold and paralyzation (or poison) can help bring it down. Also IIRC thrown (either by hand or by sling)cursed potions of invisibility, potions of blindness, potions of confusion can make it much easier to kill. and there is always the tried and true method of blessed arrows/quarrels of dragon slaying.

As for strategy, use a pickaxe or wand of digging to make a straight tunnel over to the room either high or low, not the middle, then lure out the fire elementals and demons and grues one by one or a few at a time. Retreat back into the tunnel you dug as necessary to avoid being surrounded. Don't try to wander into the room full of monsters

You might give this a try:

Try to throw a blessed potion of cure corruption at the Wyrm.

Need a stronger weapon if you're going to fight it melee (like Big Punch from Dwarven Elder quest chain, Sword of Sharpness or Mace of Destruction both of which you can use a wish for multiples of at a time, or other artifact), and better body armor than a +5 PV Elven Chain Mail. Also, while you want to have 1 ring as the Blessed Ring of Ice, you could put on the other as a Ring of the Clear Mind or Ring of Mental Stability to get confusion resistance (also can get that resistance from pool sipping but it's very dangerous). With one of those rings the confusion attacks will mostly fail and the ones that do take effect will wear off faster.

Library can be a deadly place and is mostly for casters because of the guaranteed spellbooks. You might get some good scrolls out of it, but the equipment destruction and possibly lethal monsters spawned there make it not worth it overall for melee fighters.

Sword of Sharpness or Mace of Destruction

Do note that these can melt away in the ToEF

Maces of Destruction are adamantium made, they do not melt.
