It is my first game win without save scrumming. Thanks to Silfir and GordonOverkill, who taught me how to play Adom!

***massive spoilers ahead***
I had a lot of early char deaths before I got this one. Only one char got far enough, but was killed on lvl 27, I’ve posted a YASD. My plan was always the same: get the quests in Terinyo, then Lawenilothehl to id stuff in the shop and get into the thieves guild. Then find the down stairs in the Small Cave. Eventually I realized that it’s better not to wonder there if PV is less than 4. Do the Terinyo quests, and then go through UD.

This time the char was extremely lucky. I got a N altar in the cavernous puppy level, precrowned with Whirlwind – okay. More important is that he turned N and got healing with no worry. I’ve found a sword of devastation early in the game, it was very helpful. Then did went to Dwarftown and the pyramid. I’ve found a statue with a wish in the upper CoC and wished for an AoLS. Then met a giant boar and got a skull. By that point I was 100% sure that I should try an UNE – I considered lawful to be too tedious. Got acid bolt from a potion of wonder. It turned out that I can bookcast – was very helpful. The first tough moment was a quickling king in DH2. I prayed several times, shoot him, zapped him with acid bolt, but he regened too fast. He resisted 50% of my confusion blasts. I was very annoyed but had to retreat. Confusion was my main power before the frozen jarl caves. I’ve grinded a bit in the big room for herbs and trained missile weapons quite good. My sword of devastation was diluted in an acid vortex explosion just before I headed to ToHK but I had a murderous adamantium longsword as a spare. Nothing interesting in ToHK. The skeletal king was destroyed easily with undead slaying ammo.

There were almost no shops generated. Waldenbrook gave me terrible prices, so I didn't bother selling stuff at all. Not much luck with pools as well. I’ve got SeeI, -Petr and +Tele but lost fire resistance.

In the jarl cave was a grater undead vault. I headed to the giants first. On the last level was a threat room with doppelganger kings. That was quite a fun to deal with them. After cleaning the last level, I’ve returned to the undead vault… The liches summoned so many monsters, that it was endless! Thankfully, I had enough wands of teleportation and managed to kill them. The rewards were worth the effort - True Aim and Kinslayer. First I didn’t realized the power of the sword, however it turned to be better than a penetrating weapon vs humanoids. By that point I could satisfy the ratling, but didn’t realize that. I planned to find some useless artifact in the casino shop. So I went to the tower.

The first objective in the tower was to find a red dragon to get fire resistance. Arrows of hunting did the trick. The tower was quite easy, contrary I had some trouble in the temple. The char was barely hurting fire elementals and grues. ACW was easily killed with dragon slaying ammo though. It dropped the Crown of Havlor which was nice. I’ve found nothing in the casino shop, but then I got the point that the phial, big punch, mummy wrapping, moon sickle, ring of the high king and crown of science were almost useless artifacts. I had some trouble, getting a farmer corpse. My mistake was to try getting it, before the crone asked me. Terinyo ran out of farmers and even with arrows of hunting I couldn’t get any corpse. Got the quest from the crone, wished for a farmer, killed him and no corpse again! Then I wished for food preservation and grinded to rise it a bit. I’ve lured friendly guys from HMV and finally got a hostile farmer generated. He left a corpse! Got crowned with fire immunity – by then the char had eaten enough lizards and a slug. I used a white dragon scale mail for the rest of the game. I got the staff of the Wanderer as a gift – completely useless by that point.

Was almost killed the char by a stone ooze in the rift. The cat lord was also a tough one. I tried to confuse him but didn’t succeed. He dealt quite a bit of damage, but then I just slashed him with Kinslayer, he panicked and that was it. I’ve lost 7LB in the air temple stupidly. I cleaned the temple with vulnerable stuff off. Than I’ve put everything on and returned for the loot… At some point I thought there could be something good in the underwater cave – I still was not sure that I’d overcame the PV of the emperor moloch. No penetrating stuff, but the Protector was good enough to hassle the water dragon. She was a very strong opponent. I believe I even had to teleport for regeneration several times. Luckily I’ve also got the rune covered trident. It turned to be my main ranged weapon.

Screwed up the bunny level. I've killed the bunnies no problem, but worms spawned too fast. As I didn't close the door, a whole level filled with worms. I bookcasted acid ball and managed to clean about 2/3 of the level. It was two castings with max PP. By that point the worms were extermally experienced, they pushed through armor and eventually survived two acid balls, so I gave up. I dug a corridor and blocked the downstairs with doors.

Dragon caves were pretty easy. Tried slaying ammo vs the wyrm, but GTBs worked better. The fight was a bit rough though. The corruptions were realy annoying at that stage. The emperor was killed before we got to the exit of his lair. The attributes were really low since I meleed those that I shouldn’t have. That was fixed by a threat room of great black wyrms on around D40. The greater vault was once again an undead vault, but with many more liches. I didn’t bother stopping by. Razed the earth temple with no problem at all. The thrown trident killed earth grues with one or two hits. My second biggest surprise of the whole game was manna temple. I forgot to learn trap detection and had manna battery. So I had to relay on alertness to deal with the traps. I lost both my amulets of light in a stone block trap. Suddenly I realized that the arcmage is outside the temple. Didn't know he can pass through walls. I had to melee him in darkness and killed him quite easy with Kinslayer. The char was down to half HP but that was nonsense compared to what I expected. Thanks to food preservation I managed to bring all the corpses to the druid. D50 was a piece of cake. I've teleported to say hello to the balors and then killed them in an empty room with my greater earth elemental friend. That was to gain sufficient corruptions.

The char entered the gate. I've used all the SoCR and most potions of boost stuff. and then I had a biggest surprise of the whole game. I've read several scrolls of power and zapped Andor with a wand of far slaying charged for about 950 pp. That killed him with one shot! Of course, I've outsmarted him wearing an AoLS.

To conclude, the game is much easier after Dwarftown, the most dangerous obligatory boss is the Mastercat and I'm not going to melee a penetrating enemy any more. The only late game frightening situations were meleeing greater molochs, a stone ooze and the Mastercat.

Nice YAVP, well done.

On a side note, back in pre23 there was this funny bug where two out of five orb guardians could teleport at will around the level - archmage and summoner.
You could ignore the entire air and mana temples and just read a scroll of monster aggravation - the only thing that could teleport to you would be the archmage or the summoner.
They could be easily dispatched without having to manage the other monsters at the same time, without item destruction in air temple or risking the navigation through traps in darkness and PP drains due to magebane/doom eyes in mana temple.

I really don't understand the point about mindcrafters being a hard class to play. Once you survive the early game, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

He is a hostile monster in an inevitable level, so he is kinda optional.
I had to go back and forth for the ultra stuff, so I decided to finish him before he catches me out of position.
