I am writing a DOS batch file menu for all of my DOS games on Linux, ADOM included - I use the Linux version, but nipper uses DOSBOX with a selection menu coz he's only little! I thought that I had all of the chown/chmod problems sorted, but I now have "Fatal Error: Illegal skill advancement (2/0)." whilst creating my character, during the skills selection phase. All of my other problems so far have been simple to resolve, but this one is evading me. Anybody give me a clue?

PS I hate mist elves - they can't touch anything!
PPS Got past that error today and got 'cannot write temporary file adtl04_1' when I tried to enter Terinyo - definitely a permissions thing - where would that be then? - fixed that by adding adom to my group, but still getting skill advancement error, but only with "Skilled". Starts ok without it.
SOLVED!! upgraded to prerelease 23 - AOK, alles klar.
