Had a very interesting game. Rolled a Grey Elven Wizard. I normally don't like wizards too much. They're too easy I think (once they get going). Well, it's been a while since I've played ADOM, so I started it up and that's what it gave me. Here're the notes I took during the game.

Accidentally drank potion of exchange on turn 1. Shit. Got 9 learning and 26 strength. Swapped dex and mana too, but that won't matter. Looks like I'm gonna be short on castings. Gonna be a fun wizard.
Grabed druid quest for the frost bolt book (already have healing/herbalism)
Check out shop in Holeinthewall. AoLS! Sweet! Ultra aspirations? With 9 learning wizard? Nah. Not today.
Got blanket and located stairs in SMC. Did Druid quest and found bones of the lost dog. Undead vault. Found adamantium sabre (+0, 1d6+9). Also an anvil. Guess I'll lug this around for a while. Might as well use all this strength I have instead of learning...
Accidentally clicked [k]nowledge. Great, now I have Gardening. (I don't usually have this many misclicks in a game)
Over to CoC.
Altar on D2. Get holy water. Arena on D3 - did 19 fights. Herbs on D4. Stabilized Morgia Moss Spense and Pepper Petals.
Pool on D6. Will return when I have piety. D7 is the big room. Random drop find a cloak of invisibility on D8. Very nice.
Dwarftown on D9. 1st quest is for a troll. Headed down to big room to look for one and find one on the way.
Potion shop on D11. Jelly Vault on D12. Gelatinous Cubes dissolve a bunch of stuff. Found an Eternium Rapier 2d6+8 [+1, +1]. Use that on Grey Oozes.
Get through forest with my cloak of invisibility. Decide to just check what DH2 looks like. Find a quickling king adjacent to the stairs. Use slow monster so his speed is *only* 500. He regenerates too fast. Try to ditch him on another level. Head to surface to do Griffyard.
Find a "Shadowy Dungeon" on the way. Not sure what it is. It had several herb levels and 3 altars. Jelly Vault (again) on R2:10. 12 levels deep in total.
Stopped by Holeinthewall to grab the amulet of life saving and train detect traps.
Killed everything in Griffyard no problem. Got the Sword and Gauntlets. Found a nasty adamantium halberd of mayhem (+9, 4d8+12). Sweet.
Was level 16 by now so I went to the pyramid. Blessed Wand of Fireballs killed everything. Did a little grave digging to change alignment.
Went back through SMC to HMV. Found 1 mixed vault along the way and *another* jelly vault (my third).
I'm +fire +acid +poison +curse at this point. Found a scroll of danger on the way. This game really wants me to do an ultra.
Back to Dwarftown. Found a Ring of Djinni Summoning in the ogre cave. All signs point to ultra. Okay, I'll do it. So I feed the ratling. Gave him Sword of Nannok, Black Torc, and Moon Sickle. Head topside to grab the Phial and Ring of High Kings. Saved Khelly. Passed the graveyard.
First corruption comes in water temple. Extra eyes. Not bad. Took the Snake down no problem. Stunned him and fireballed.
Killed the Banshee on D23. General store on D27. Can't proceed without fire orb. Finally killed that quickling king on the way up. Looted Darkforge. No random artifacts, but got the Crown of Science and red dragon scale mail. Farmed some spenseweed and headed to the tower. Blinded him and shot him down with frost bolts. Ate the corpse. Got scales and sweating blood. Not bad. I'll keep'em for now. On the way out I got ChAos whispers. Lose willpower for Learning and Mana, I can live with it. Fed the ratling the crown of science and the elemental gauntlets. Headed to the Ancient Stone Circle. Keriax is vulnerable to death ray, right? We'll see.

Holy fuck that was intense. Shrugs everything I've got. Whittled him down with a shitload of cursed invis/cure posion/blindness/stunning/para and getting occasional ball spells and magic missle hits. Got antennae shortly after fight. Another good one.
Handed in boar skull, PoCR, Farmer, and Scroll of Danger to the crone. Don't have a wand of monster creation. Changed alignment -very- carefully. I had to kill several farmers and I was very chaotic. Back to neutral.
Back to CoC to push ahead. Maybe the casino will have a wand for me. It has just dawned on me I have no clue what my first kill was. This might end up as a gate closer after all...
Back in dwarftown I finally have controlled teleportation (found a blink dog at some point) and mystic gives me 4 extra SoCR. Up to 11 now. (6 from Khelly, 1 in HMV, 4 from mystic). I'm loving this strength. Not the smartest wizard, but I'm wielding Big Punch and I'm not even burdened. I can hold 4800s with no encumberance.
Potion Shop on D30. Casino on D31. The casino loot is kinda... meh. Or else my gear is good. Not a lot I want. No artifacts. Found the wand of monster creation. Got corrupted tissue and stilts playing slots. Shortcut to surfact on D32. Crowned with =Acid and Staff of the Wanderer (was hoping for Robes of Resistance). So I'm a wizard with 37 Strength, 29 Toughness, and 22 Learning (after bonuses). Awesome. Maybe I should try drinking another potion of exchange.
Got Air Orb. Ate the summoner. Got mana battery. Used to to absorb a ton of bad wands, then cleansed it. Took two scrolls because of the order I got them.
Humongous tension room on Earth Temple with two white unicorns. If I kill'em I might become a fallen champion. Used two scrolls of companion summoning. Got Ghost King and Greater Earth Elemental. King died. Lured them up one level. Speed 140, 602 energy cost to move at this point. Elemental can't keep up. Hit and run tactics. Killed the beast, didn't eat. Got Blood turned to acid during the battle.
Got thrive on the flesh of Order corruption. Up to letter I. 41 strength and I can melee Diamond Golems.
Greater Red Dragon Vault on D45. Do I have time? I'm gonna try it. Black tome, Hammerhead, Wyrmlance, and Scorched Spear. Also two wishes.
Dove to mana temple. Acid Ball took care of archmage. Ate him. I'm up to letter Q in corruptions. Headed topside to clear them with the Unicorn. Grabbed the Medal of Chaos while I was there. Stashed with Crown in hidden room. Now to do the Blue Dragon Caves. Killed quite a few dragons. Heading topside to search for Filk. No clue whatsoever what my first kill was. I might die.
Got the quest in Assassins Guild. Read dozens of spellbooks I had acculumulated. Headed to ID, if I reach the SIL, I'll turn back.
Finding lots of strangely strong creatures. Dorn Beast on I1. Gorgon on I3. Lots of *THUMB*.
Finally found Filk on I60. Well, my first kill couldn't have been Ancient Blue Dragons, 'cause I killed more than 60 of those. Maybe Kobolds. He is initially friendly. He says "SlaughtertheMadMinstrelandyouwillhaveonehappyquick lingforsure", but I'm not gonna kill the Mad Minstrel. A single acid ball killed him. On the way up I saw a tension room of Titans next to a long hallway. Magic Missled them. Also found another wish from a random Red Wyrm. That makes three I have available now. Otherwise, the trip topside is uneventful.
Visit mad minstrel then to the cave. Acid Balled the Emperor Moloch. Got the ToRR from Khelly. After a quick stop at the Assassins Guild to kill the king I headed to the CoC to prepare for my final dive. Wrote several scrolls of education. Got Alertness (and other usless stuff). Executor for Potion of Uselessness. Cleared D50. Got all the way to "very corrupted" or whatever it's supposed to be.

Then I remembered that I left the crown and amulet in HMV.

Fuck.

Guess I'll just close the gate as normal then. Went to the library on the way out.
