Just a general topic about what everyone here does besides burnin brain cells in ADOM.

I'm brazilian and I'm a graduate student in physics here. 2nd year.

Right now i'm on vacation but I'm trying to get me a job in a genetics research lab. If all else fails... i guess i'll become a high school teacher. =P. Oh, and I'm 21.

Well I'm 26, just graduated from a degree in physics, not sure what the hell I'll do next. Don't want to end up in teaching, but there's not many other jobs going, and I don't have the grades to go on to post-grad stuff. Maybe if I could find an ADOM-related job...

Yeah, the post grad stuff is really out of my league. I mean... i just love my free time too much to get the grades.

Wow, lots of physicists here (compared to the general population, anyway)... I'm a diagnostic medical physicist, and I do radiation safety surveys of x-ray generating equipment, and accreditation of CT and MRI scanners. For those with an MS or higher in physics who don't want to stay in academia or R&D, medical physics is where it's AT.

Of course, there's always the task of getting that MS... my experience at Virginia Tech was, to say the least, harrowing.

Never would have imagined that there were law nerds that play ADOM.

19 years old here, studying Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State University (it's essentially the same as Electrical Engineering, but with a Computer focus, of course). If I can finish it as fast as I hope to (as in, before my scholarship runs out), I will also try to obtain a Computer Science degree. Currently entering my sophomore year.

Otherwise, it's summer jobbing for me. Tried to get an internship this summer, but nepotism issues made it impossible to work at the place I applied to, so I ended up spending the summer at Home Depot instead (Garden associate = so much heavy lifting). Was $9.10 an hour though, so it was worth it.

I'm studying control theory and applied mathematics. I'm 28, having started my studies at a late age. I'll most likely stay at my university even after graduating.

I'm 30 and working as a product development manager in banking. Which basicly means that I make sure that the client exec guys and general management dont get "too bright" ideas.

I'm 20, was attempting to pursue a career in video game development but options for that are limited in my state, so now I'm aiming to become either a chef, cake designer or custom confections type person. Right now I'm working as essentially help desk in a computer lab (that is nearly always empty from may through august anyway...).

I'm a recently unemployed (love this economy) kitchen manager/cook. A chef w/o a degree effectively. 36 years old, so looks like I lose in the age category, currently living in W.Mass.

One good thing about being unemployed...more time for ADOM.

So, waiting for Soirana to write something here, right guys? )))))

Keep waiting, as I have successfully found and
killed Soirana. Grey, you're next.

I'm gut, and was named thusly by my father,
Intestine Jr.. My mother, Bowel, wanted to name
me after him, but he thought that 'Intestine the
third' just sounded rediculous.

I am currently a mostly unemployed septic tank
pumper. You see, I can't afford the expensive
equipment, so I have to use a wheel barrow and
a modified bicycle pump, and that tends to cost a
lot of business. I used to be a social worker, but
I got tired of dealing with other people's crap.

Hopefully, when the economy improves a bit, I
can return to my regular occupation of gathering
and selling alluminum cans.

I would imagine that soda and beer consumption would actually be up, with all the joblessness and sitting around at home and whatnot... ;)

I'm currently thinking going back to school and becoming a fireman/paramedic.

Your parents belong to the middle class. They were honest hard-working people, who did everything to enable you to live a comfortable and fine life.

At the age of 25 you decided to become permanently unemployed :).

I'm 19, entering my freshman year at the University of Bucharest, gonna study History. I've also worked for one year as a pro-volleyball player for the 2nd division team in my town. It was nice getting money for what I'd been doing for free for 6 years prior to that :)
