Is there a point to the Weekly Challenge game?

I mean, is it just for your own enjoyment?

Shouldn't there be a place online that we can compare, compete and tell stories about our weekly endeavors?

Or is this just for our own amusement? I mean.. I can roll a random character anytime.

Kind of pointless unless you can share.

Scores are posted here: http://rogueleague.org/highscores and you can compete against your friends. Also, some of the unique challenge features, such as taking damage when walking away from stairs, are pretty cool.

I didn't like the challenges at first, but they have grown on me.
