I think this would be pretty convenient. There are plenty of dual-use items: spears, daggers, even lumps of clay. It is obvious, that if I had a bunch of that lumps of that clay in my "missiles" slot, I'd like to auto-pickup them to add to my ammo, while not auto-pickuping other loot of their cathegory.
