Music Skill still able to tame

Am trying out priest for the first time in ages. remember being able to tame the ant queen on PC2 and letting it guide me through SMC. this has been failing epically as of late and was curious if its still possible to tame animals with music skill

It is, but it seems like lower values of the skill are much less effective in recent versions. There's also a range requirement, if the monster is too far away it can't hear the music. :)

thanks for the info guess ill have to poke at it some more and raise the skill up close to 100 if not max it once more important skills are done

You may also lead it off-level while it's still hostile and try to tame it anywhere other than PC:2. Seems like some levels have a built-in taming prevention system, like the bug temple wilderness.
