View Full Version : btw about space
I do logic casual game for some months. I hope for commercial distribution via internet. And to me are necessary beautiful space backgrounds. I do not know, where them to take free with possibility to apply in commercial game. I heard some photos of a telescope Hubble are free, but it is too difficult to me to be guided in English-speaking sites and to read licences.
I will be grateful, if somebody helps to find the space photos which have been not protected by copyrights.
All NASA and ESA pictures are free. However I'm not sure if you're allowed to profit from their use...

Everything an employee of the US government makes at work is public domain... means, it belongs to everyone. Including you. Even for commercial purposes.
Heres the catch: in some contries (germany for example) you can't put things into the public domain. Therefore, those images are still copyrighted in germany.
But since noone is there to sue you about that...
Yes, I have found some good pictures there. These photos are authorised for using in computer games without any restrictions.
In couple of weeks, probably, I will show the gameplay video.
It will be great game. :)

This interests me even though I cannot understand a single word of what is in the screen cap. It's mostly the bird that does it for me.

The graphics are so crappy. And I despise the "control panel look". Sadly so many (amateur) games do this. Wish I knew why. Kinda ruins the UI. And this thing here is one of the most unpolished things I've seen in a while. Hell you didnt even fix the textboxes position - its overlapped by the bird.
Hope I didnt bash you too much (sorry?), but lets be honest: theres a *lot* of room for improvement.
Silfir, nice bird then? Sadly, most birds *do* give shit. And they seem to know how to aim.

Improvement is probably why he made it. You don't start off making the very best game in the world on your first try.

... I'm having trouble reading the words.
: )
I'm kidding, but I do wonder about the grid lines.
Are they a pivotal part of the game, or just to help
the player keep track of the squares. Personally, I
think the grid lines bother me a bit. Would it be
possible to maybe replace them with indicators
along the borders, with maybe a simple 'crosshairs'
in the middle. Something like:
.................
. | | | | | .
._ _.
. .
._ _.
. _|_ .
._ | _.
. .
._ _.
. | | | | | .
.................
It's a puzzle, not arcade.
Grid must be definitely, like on chess field.
Well. Release of demo version. Twenty levels. Some of them quite hard.
In english version you can edit text in the message window. If you enjoy the game, help me to correct it. :)
