First archmage for me and perhaps the all-time highscore (343 million points).

The game was first completed normally (All orbs, ToTRR and medal of chaos gained. Crown of chaos were left for later because I couldn't enter the stone circle at day 60 because trying to go in skipped the exact hour) and when I got RoDS with potion of exchange I wanted to try if I could make an elementalist archmage. :)

So I started a wish engine and kept wishing for spellbooks until I got a spellbook of wish (took more than 2000 wishes for books + all those wishes that were used to keep the wish engine going). So I really recommend to try an archmage only if you have already found your copy of a spellbook of wish...

Then wait for a silvernight and start book-casting wish. And keep casting. And cast it some more times.

I could have done ULE but to get better score I went for a normal ending (which was pretty easy after all stats were heavily boosted).

Maybe with some character that finds a spellbook of wish. :)

Using the spellbook of wish itself isn't really that tedious or hard. It just needs pasting a lot of same series of commands to get stash of ~5000 potions of ultra healing, ~2500 potions of quickling blood, ~100 potions of gain attributes, ~150 potions/scrolls of education and so on...

I recommend starting with potions of ultra healing to get HP up to ~5000 so you can cast wish 4 times from HP because it's a lot cheaper to use water orb to restore HP than it's to use mana orb to restore PP.

I've got on question. How do you guys boost up caps, girdles and boots with PV/DV so high??
Neither smithing nor scrolls or defense/protection can do that...

I am pretty certain its just blessed scrolls abuse - as if an archmage is going to bother wasting time smithing. I must admit, 15 does seem a lot- furthest I recall getting with scrolls of defense was 10/11 ish, but I never had an archmage or a wish engine to really try pushing the scroll envelope, so to speak.

Scrolls of defense and protection. I thought there were an upper limit but there isn't...
Earlier today when I tested it, I wished for about 4000-5000 scrolls of defense, blessed them and read them all to boost my eternium cap. Result was something like [+450, +12]

really??? Now thats awesome. What was your scroll success rate past 20 or so like??? (Clearly 20 on ones hat, girdle, boots, cloak and gauntlets is plenty :)

If you would like to test something by yourself, you can use this save file (for adom 1.1.1): http://www.students.tut.fi/~maki36/adom/Archmage.zip

Load it and start pasting the following stuff in adom. Just remember to put in your wish first and remove those square brackets too and leave those spaces in from of lines.

If you are going to wish for scrolls, pick up the scroll stack next to the PC and replace all "rbcy" with "r+ncy" and "ra" (the last line) with "ro".

Also if you are going to wish for really much or very heavy stuff (>200000 stones), remember to drop some stuff before you get crushed. Also do not remove ToTTR because strength of atlas is in use and only that gives you mana. :)

Danger level of UD:6 and SMC should be maximized (>15 cursed scrolls of danger read in both) but rest danger levels should be normal.

So how much RL time did it take you to make an archmage? Any sort of wish engine, I've tried the ring one, just seems to time-consuming for me. Good job, anyways.

Getting the spellbook of wish (= running ring wish engine to get about 2000-2500 wishes for spellbooks in this case...) took maybe 10 hours in total. Exping to 999999999 with mainly ancient karmic wyrms and different colored great wyrms took a few hours and wishing for everything else was maybe 5 hours or so. Most of the time it was just copy-pasting a lot of commands (like that one in my previous post).
Finishing the game with >10000 HP, >10000 PP and >10000 speed didn't take too long (D:50 was fully cleared in 3,5 minutes using only melee and I didn't even try to do it quickly). :P
