Well, the story of Rocky, named as such because of his first kill. My first PC to finish before day 90, also my first PC to do the ToEF without a ring of ice. His life started in the PC, where he managed to generate a living Kenny and bring him back to PC:1, but decided to leave him there because he'd seen a chaotic altar on PC2 so I decided I would attempt a pre-crown using that. Next up was Kranach, who required the usage of a prayer, but eventually went down to Rocky's fists of fury. Precrowned with the obsidian medium shield Protector, which meant I never again was in doubt whether to fight barehanded or with a twohander in that particular game. Did dwarven quests, first one was a barbarian leader who promptly showed up, next up I purchased Waldy's ring of invisibility so that meant DH was the preferred route of passage downward. Did Pyramid and Griffyard and Keethrax and UD-dive and Arena all in one long trek to the surface. Next up I herbed my stats up while knocking down walls for precious gems. Then I decided to do the TotHK and DF. DF was easy because of a very convenient orcish spear of penetration. In there I found both black and blue scale mail, as well as the robes of resistance and Purifier. Needless to say, it immediately became my weapon of choice, especially due to the demon/undead slaying properties. ToEF was pretty easy, despite the (new to me) requirement of using only special equipment. I discovered that bones (and bracers made out of'em) melt rather easily, but other than that the ACW died to some dragon slaying ammo I'd brought along.

Unfortunately, my monk was still level 22 at this point, because, apart from high-Dex, scummed using herbs, my first corruption was sulphur breath (very good), followed swiftly by very light, which meant a speed of 140 was commonplace. The one advantage this brought was that, compared to me, everything was a slow-ling :) . Kitties were very easy to just lure into rooms and lock in. So the dive down the CoC now started.Reached Casino, but it only had Soaker and some water and an AoLS (but it was too late for the late Khelly :D ). Then got RotMC, then stumbled across a greater vault which, to my great horror, contained undead, so I decided to skip that, despite desperately needing the XP ( still something like L 23-24). Instead I fast-tracked to the Earth Temple, where I started putting my orcish spear of penetration and my boots of the slow shuffle (with them on speed was still 120 :) ) to work, gaining quite a few levels in the meanwhile. This took me to level 27, and next up came the BDC, which I entered without talking to the AKW, so as to be able to come back out if I needed to. Meleed lots of dragons down there, found a balor 'threat' room in one of the lower levels. One of the balors proceeded to summon greater fire elementals, so things got rather nasty in a hurry. Fortunately, my monk had proved, even before the ToEF, quite adept at reading spellbooks, so I had on-demand teleport due to the spell, 1k castings of Acid/Fire Bolt, Fireball, MM and enough castings of teleport. The Ancient Blue Wyrm eventually died to some dragon slayers, so I went back up, got the loot from Sharad-Waador, sat next to him, put the AoLS and a ring of invis on and zapped a wand of far slaying for all my PP. To my surprise, neither of us was dead, so I went immediately back down in the BDC to regenerate PP without giving him the chance to recover from the ~ 400 points of damage I'd caused him. Came back up, wearing slowing boots, slowed via spell, invised Sharad and then killed him. This took me from level 36 to level 47 and pretty much meant I was now a walking gnomish tank. Rest of the game was quite a breeze, especially due to being able to 's'witch places to get through mobs to plow down summoners and orb guardians. D:50 was rather interesting though, in that a threat room of BALORS, of all things, was generated. No wands of destruction were available, so I proceeded to kill all of the monsters on the left of the level ( a true demon convention, since the balors decided to summon molochs and fire demons and air demons), handled both levers, tried to leave and then discovered that a non-hostile balor from the as-yet unopened threat room had teleported out and put the levers back on. Killed all of those balors as well, came back to the surface, got Unicorn quest, killed Riurry, killed AP for Sting, left. My inventory is still huge since I was too lazy to sift through all the BDC loot and everything that came after it, choosing instead to keep casting SoA on myself, since I'd found that one as well . Funny notes
- Chaos mobs on D:50 are wusses, they get VERY frightened by your unholy aura
- NPCs drinking cursed potion of invis become invis, not blind
- after going through all that trouble to generate Kenny, he died because he followed me and a cat I was leading to a room in order to close it: the dumb dog got killed by a cave tiger on something like Day 40.
