What is the deal with blink dogs? Is there any way to see them coming?

The deal with blink dogs is if you eat a corpse of one you get control over your teleports instead of just randomly geting moved only problem is they teleport away very often so it is hard to kill one AND they don't allways leave a corpse.

which is why if I see a blink dog and I am not lawful, I run at first so it will summon, making the odds higher for a corpse
Blink dogs teleport around, so there's no way to see them coming. At lower levels they're quire powerful, and it's sometimes best to kill them before they summon more of their kind.
If you want to harvest them for corpses then it's best to name the first one and kill the summons but not it, since initially the summons won't be able to call for more whilst the original can. It's also a good idea to get a spare corpse or two and stash it in a shop where it won't rot in case you ever lose teleport control later.

there is also another deal with blink dogs :)
champion of order + tension room with blink dogs(angry) = trouble ;>
so watch out
Yeah, I encountered a huge room of them in the high kings dungeon once, and didn't want to lose my L status, but I thankfully had an invisibility cloak to let me bypass them safely.

what exactly do you do when you eat a dog's corpse because I did and they still killed me.
Their corpse is just to give you control over teleportation magic (letting you choose your destination instead of sending you to a random location). The best way to stop them killing you is to kill them yourself. Or run away. Darkness helps with both (they don't fight back in the dark).
