I always thought my first victory would be with a wizard. Apparently it isn't. Beastfighters are awesome.

//Learning is low because I kept the apish corruption around for a while. Same for willpower and charisma.
Almost everything went smoothly. Grendel started her adventuring career by saving a tiny girl's dog and then dove straight into an unremarkable dungeon, where she found a pair of seven league boots. Most monsters fell to her melee attack, and those that didn't she ran circles around while shooting them with whatever missiles she had at the moment.
Thrundarr's first quest was a kobold, which was great because beastfighters start illiterate and I hadn't found a dark sage corpse.
I got myself crowned neutral early on because beastfighters have awesome crowning gifts. I got fire immunity just in time for the tower, and Preserver, which made my HP regenerate so fast that I didn't need to heal most of the time.
The corruptions in this game were strange. I got my first one while fighting the snake from beyond, and it was poison hands. After removing it, the first new corruption was... Poison hands. That was especially annoying because it happened in the Tower of Eternal Flames and I'd left my thick gauntlets safely in the Caverns of Chaos. I ended up not needing any healing potions, but it did mean the corpse of the guardian was wasted. I got poison hands a third time while fighting in the Mana temple. The stiff muscle corruption didn't appear for the entire game.
There was one tense moment in the game, and that was when facing the cat lord. At one point he decided to 'fight in a blind rage' and brought Grendel down to 3 HP. That was the last time she even got close to death.
Because of Grendel's high speed, levelling was slow. She took on the Mana Temple at level 29. After a while of slaying random chaos servants, Nuurag-Vaarn finally appeared in the tunnel, where he was blinded with a potion of blindness, hit a few times with humanoid slaying ammo and then finished off in melee.
D:50 was done the hero's way, by killing everything on that level. Grendel tore the balors apart with her bare hands, except for Fistinarius the greater balor, which she shot to death with humanoid slaying ammo. He brought her to level 50. After saving the world, she helped a friendly unicorn regain a part of his life essence and was rewarded with full corruption removal. Then she became queen. Some of her people might have protested against a lowly beastfighter becoming their ruler, but I like to think they all changed their minds after they saw her ripping the wings off a great blue wyrm who just happened to fly past.
