I had a great Dark Elven Mindcrafter going. Statswise it was kind of pathetic, mostly because I'd found NO stable Morgia patches, but it had saved Khelly, got four of the Orbs, appeased the Cat Lord, and had managed to steal Executor from the casino and Ironfist from a Greater Vault of Greater Undead. I'd also cleaned out two Lesser Vaults of blue and white dragon and I owned two red dragon scale mails, so I was feeling quite confident about taking on the Greater Vault of Fire Creatures and Treasure that I found on D:45.
It went well, although the creatures in there died just as slowly as everything else my mindcrafter had encountered so far. I'd had the poison hands corruption since the earth temple, but I'd been wearing thick gauntlets. For this vault, however, I put on Ironfist so the thick gauntlets wouldn't melt in the fire. Most of the time I did remember to put the thick gauntlets back on when picking up treasure, but then while meleeing, a fire elemental got a very lucky critical hit in that brought my HP down all the way to 1. "Uh oh," I thought, "I should quaff a potion of extra healing so I don't die!"
Next turn: "Blegh! This tastes like poison! The fire elemental hits you. You die!" :(
I don't feel like playing any more mindcrafters for a while.
