EDIT: Whoops, forgot to title the thread appropriately. Oh well.

.flg can be found at http://ancardia.ath.cx/adom_users/lfk/fallen.flg

I didn't want to dump it here.
I just wanted to tell the story of this PC, which I thought was amusing.

As you know, Elven Paladins have the downside of getting 1.2/1.2 on their exp multipliers, and dark elves really have average starting Le but very high stats in general (Ma, De). As a result, they advance in level really slowly, I believe the slowest of any non-troll race/class.

I found an early altar in PC at level 6, and an herb level near it. I planned to use a combination of livesacs and stomafillia to get an early precrown, but i first toiled in the infinite dungeon for some exp to get to level 8. I go down a level from the altar back in PC and find a shop! It's a book shop, which will be amazing later on, but then ... black tome (400s). Mother dfhsakjfhasjdf, seriously?!. Now i can't precrown my ass because this artifact tacks on another 3 levels to the requirement on top of being a useless hunk of crap, and i wasted all that time hard-leveling this PC. So, i figure i'll keep playing and seek the precrown sometime before dwarftown and the si.

The very easy spellbooks from the shop (Light, Darkness) help train Fallen's literacy to get him over the spellcasting hump. Paladins find a ton of spellbooks too, so I have a pile of about 15 spellbooks dumped on D:1 (includes teleport, acid ball, ice ball) for later reading.

So I finish getting to exp level 11 and im getting ready to attempt the precrown again when... surge of power. Okay, not bad. I figure it's the same thing as the random artifact, minus all the time needed to collect piety. It's shining long spear (10s). God dammit. I actually use this shitstick for a little while because up until now i've been using an orcish spear 1d8+2 with a normal medium shield, and the 3d7 dice is actually somewhat better. Once i got the sword of Nonnak, though, I switched it back.

On the plus side, the artifact guardian is Sylaar, the Shambling Mound, which i promptly lock away in a room for later use. Later on, he gets me from exp level 36 to 43 in one go.

After passing the si level, there's no way in hell i'm getting precrowned now, so i get crowned (crossing my fingers for justifier) with Aylas Holy Scarf, the first artifact that i can actually use long term. Well, not bad. And lo and behold, surge of power. Again. Pretty nice. So i'm thinking, okay, I only have 1 artifact and it's a neck item of all things, so no matter what I should get a sweet upgrade somewhere.

It's Preserver.

I've never ever bitched about getting Preserver. I think it's the 2nd best non-guaranteed artifact in the whole game, after BoW. But why?! I still use the scarf for a while because at this point, the [+10 +10] is essential, i don't cast ball spells yet, and switch to preserver only when i suspect something is a mimic, or to regenerate hp. Together with the ankh and the torc, I now have 4 artifact necklaces. C'mon.

So by mid-game i'm pretty invested in 1H weapons. I'm using a mace of destruction + a tower eternium shield. The shield skill is at 8, meaning switching to a 2 hander would run down the DV quite a bit. So of course, what do i find next?

Wyrmlance. Dammit. BDC clearance, nothing else.
Hammer of the Gods. ....

Artifacts are literally raining down left and right on me, and I'm completely ungrateful because I can't use them. (though the HoTG is =Shock, which in conjunction with the Shambling mound... ;) )

The casino contained Farslayer, thank god, which is the second artifact that I now have equipped. (Not counting the guaranteed orbs)

The vault containing nothing but Thunderstroke was the last piece of confirmation that this game officially was trying to screw with me. On top of it, the game had not yet given me 7LB. On my way back up the CoC after the gate closure, I check the casino for fun and it restocked.... a 7LB.

The game rained artifacts down on me for the whole game, and at the game's end, i am still wielding that same Mace of Destruction that i was wielding since D:13 or something. Yes, i do have ToTRR, but I actually got it about 10 turns before I won, so that wasn't in play at all, really.

Anyway, I thought that was just a good example of the RNG's humor. Overall, that was a very easy game, and the RNG was pretty good to me (heck, it could've not given me the artifacts at all). The only difficult part was of course the early game (HMV stone giant lord almost killed me with a rock, 4HP left), but once Paladins get over that hurdle where they can reliably learn spells, its a coast. ACW dropped to Freezing Fury, Yulgash to Rain of Sorrow, and Nuurgy only took a potion of blindness and 3 quarrels of humanoid slaying. D:50 was just a few Rains of Sorrow.

DE Pals need exp infusions to get to L50, and it was necessary to: MM'ing AKW, short corridor Shambling mound + divine wrath... a few hundred bolts hit him before killing, tension room of Titans, and of course the clear of D:50 balors/fisty.

Heh, good fun at least... Was this the same char that got to #2 on the server?

Ah, yeah. That's him.

I play most of my games on the server now. I've kind of gotten used to the slight delay after every keystroke, to the point that running it on my own CPU seems a little too fast.
