This is my first win with a wizard. Avenger is created to do what his name says, to avenge my human assassin and gray elven merchant, who both died in the ToEF. They were both very promising characters, but they got pushed around so much by the fire elementals and demons that got critical hit after critical hit. My merchant drank no less than 20 extra healing potions in her battle with the ACW before dying to 2 consecutive energy blasts.
So the story begins in the ToEF. Avenger casts invisibility, walks into the temple, equips the water orb, and drinks a potion of boost willpower. Then he completely destroys everything with his 48 Wi ice ball. The cluster of fire elementals in the corner died immediately. The ACW starts out pretty arrogant by trying to blast me with energy bolts, but a few ice balls later, he panics. I then chase him through the temple, leaving a wake of icy destruction. The ACW dies in a pretty humiliating way, so Avenger did his job well.
Because I managed my wilderness travel very poorly, I blew the 90 limit. Therefore, I decided to take my time, and did the minotaur maze and quickling tree for the first time. The maze was actually quite enjoyable, and I got to level 7 without much difficulty. Then it took a turn for the worse. Despite wearing a ring of mental stability and having 39 Wi, the minotaur mages managed to confuse me. I immediately equipped the water orb and tried to teleport away, but still lost 1 strength and 2 mana, which was not pleasant. The minotaur emperor, well, I hit him a few (no more than 4) times with magic missile, and he panicked. He then fled through a corridor, stepped on an acid trap, and died. I guess he couldn't handle his own maze.
The quickling tree made me wish I had food preservation, but I didn't have any wishes. Temples and D50, well, he's a wizard, so nothing remarkable.
