View Full Version : YAVP Wizard, gray elven wizard

Very easy game from beginning to the end. Started with quite good set of spellbooks(acid bolt, frost bolt and cure light wounds, and later I've quickly founded most important spells for wizard(teleportation, acid ball, ice ball). In PC I founded three shops in a row(PC2, PC3, PC4) - that probably happened first time since I started to play Adom. I also founded potion shop on D5, and herbs on same level. There was two 2x2 bushes with stomafilia, one with morgia, and two with spensweed and moss of maerilion. I raised To, Wi and Dx up to 25 and precrowning(with stomafilia) on VD 5 gave me robes of resistance. After old dwarf quests I had about 6 PoGA(some founded in dungeon, one from potion shop and one from dwarven mystic), which combined with water orb(which I founded later), sword of Nonnak, and amulet of preservance(Wi+4) gave me over 48 willpower.

From that point, character was unstopable. ToEF was cleared with ice ball(I had prepared some potions of blindness for ACW, but even didn't used them), cat lord was killed with combination of web spell, potion of blindness and acid ball. Chaos archmage was killed with acid ball and potion of confusion(those potions really should be nerfed, they're ultimate weapon against nearly all tough enemies, except for Fistanarius and Andor Drakon). Same thing with D50 - flooded with acid ball.

I didn't rescued Khelavaster(haven't founded any AoLS or wishes before him), but after closing chaos gate I killed emperor moloch and got weird tome from mad minstrel. I left Drakalor Chain with crumpled scroll and weird tome in my inventory - maybe later I'll try to test those two items.

Congratulations. I always forget about web to stop advanced creatures. That's incredibly lucky with all of those shops. I have only once found stomafilia within shouting distance of an alter.

What's the benefit to finding somafilia close to an alter?

Sacrifice 70-80(or so) stomafilia = quick and easy precrowning/crowning.

Buh buh....wow. The things you never learn in this game even though you have been playing for several years. I didn't know that sacrificing stomafilia helps!! THANKS! (I was never a part of the old newsgroups or anything...these forums are the best thing that could have happened for the game I think :D )

70 blessed stomafillia - uncursed ain't worth nearly as much.

Anyway, congrats Macros - GE wizards are such fun to play, especially clearing the hordes on D50.
