Greetings, Mortals!

I am The Mighty WERDNA, Lord Of Darkness.
And I just signed up ^_^

A buddy of mine told me about DOS games, so I went to www.dosgames.com to download a few, and one
of the ones I downloaded was ADOM. It has quickly become one of my three all time favoriote games, and
I find it more addictive then even WarCraft3! A highly enjoyable game.

There were so many things about ADOM that I thought sucked at first, but have come to really enjoy them.
Such as only having one life. Most people would think that really sucks, losing your data if your character
dies. But I think its a fantastic feature! If my character dies, then it was probably my fault for doing some
thing dumb, and I deserve to have my data erased.

And despite the basic graphics, and lack of music, the game is by far the most realistic RPG I have ever
played! Your options just seem limitless.

I have already played as 40+ characters, everytime someone dies, I either remake him and try a different
aproach, or make a whole new character.

This is truly one of the greatest games ever made, and I look forward to being a member of this community.

Happy New Year Mortals!

> only having one life

I like this feature as well, but I think it works best if a game offers a
very likely way of not dying. ADOM does a great job in that area; if
one is extremely careful, your success rate can be very high with
nearly any PC.

> Your options just seem limitless

Almost too limitless : ) One sometimes finds himself tempted to equip
a beggar corpse in his missile slot, throw it at another beggar, and grin
evilly to himself as the second beggar devours the first one. Then you
recieve a nice lawful boost to your alignment because technically, you
fed a beggar.

> I have already played as 40+ characters

Well, just kill 60 more and it wil- oh wait, that would be a spoiler : )

Wow, I didn't know anyone else ever played Wizardry. It was one of my favoriote computer game series, but no
one I have talked to seems to have heard of it.

LOL, I laughed when I read the beggar thing ^_^
I absolutely must try it.

And I had a question also, one of my characters just can't bring himself to drop items, and thus is always either
burdened or strained.(hes a hurthling)
Well his strength seems to increase fairly often. Is this because hes carrying so much stuff that his muscles
grow stronger?
He is my very favoriote character, and his name is Filchy the pack rat. The highest level Filchy that I've ever
had just died minutes ago against HotzenPlotz the crime Lord :(
I thought I could take him, but was extremely under equipped when I did so, LOL. So naturally, for my foolishness
I died, and rightfully so.

And what exactly does happen when you kill 100+ characters?

Thanks if you can answer this, WERDNA

A place becomes accessible which will let your characters die even more quickly and brutally (unless your name is gut und you play a wizard).

It doesn't need to concern you yet ;)
