Using writing sets to make SoCRs at the end of the game tore the
crapola out of my mana attribute :(

As much fun as this character started off as, it eventually got very,
very boring. Not boring as in "yawn i'm killing everything off so fast
it's truly not even funny"...boring as in "nothing spectacular is
happening at all..."

So, I just decided to end it. Finish the game, ignore rift/bug temple
etc.

Got executor out of a fire greater vault (I got 3 total vaults below
D:40, 2 smalls and one greater, and all 3 were red dragons. huh.)

This one took forever because I decided to do a little jig in the
wilderness hauling logs to the TotHK.

Fun, fun.

I heartily request that you pull your head out of your smithing-hating
ass and stop being a jerk to people who use it.

For the recap on mindcraft:

You cannot confuse, or mind blast, constructs at all. They are only
affected by TB and GTB. TB is melee range only. This includes
golems, elementals, and grues. However, ALL mindless beings
fall into this category, like worms, fire beetles and killer bugs.

You cannot, to my knowledge, damage or confuse undead with
mind-based mindcraft, AND you take damage. Ghosts are immune
to TB and GTB.

Corrupting beings can be confused and damaged by mindcraft.
Why use it though? The only corrupting beings I'd want to confuse
can be confused or blinded through potions without using up PP
i'd use to shield myself so I don't get corrupted by their attacks.

TL;DR:

IT WAS BORING BECAUSE YOU CAN'T USE MINDCRAFT
ON HALF THE ENEMIES YOU WOULD WANT TO USE MINDCRAFT

Welcome to the world of the ADOM Mindcrafter. A neat idea, but Mindcraft itself has been hedged in so tightly (presumably because it'd be 'overpowered' if it were useful) that it's not much more significant in the end than the Druid's furry friends. I'm still hoping that in JADE spell magic gets 'balanced' beyond uselessness to even the odds ...

Incidentally, were you fighting everything with your ghetto adamantium spear or were you using Executor occasionally?
And why didn't you opt for the bookworm gambit - wand of wonder + bookcasting? Much more entertaining, useful and versatile (even without bookcaster talent) than the whole Mindcrafting ability.

Oh, I was killing most stuff with the spear till I got Executor, finished
off D:50 then unequipped it for some reason, I don't quite remember.

I wish mindcrafters had some more utility stuff they could
invoke, like trap detection, stuff like that.
