Do dungeon danger levels have any effect on pickpocketing? That
is, does the danger level restrict what can be pickpocketed from
enemies on that level?

AFAIK, yes, danger level does affect pickpockets.

Darn :p

I was pickpocketing things on VD:1 and saw "You steal an ordinary
ring!" (in most of the games I play, ordinary rings are RoDS).

You can check by going into the wilderness and 'U'sing the ring (on the actual wilderness, not inside a wilderness area). If it's an RoDS, I think it will say 'You can't use that here' or something.

Aye, it's a non-RoDS. Oh well, maybe I'll find a real one soon, and go
for a different flavor of ultra ;)

On VD:1, a ring of DAMAGE is worth a lot. Esp if you can find a way to bless it. +8 to melee attacks is a huge part of your damage output for a long while. Unless you're a wizard with a Learned race, in which case you're nuking everything instead.

Pickpockets can generate only items that has danger level <= dungeon danger level (like any other generated items).
