This is the character from the TH competition that occurred way back, and my first win with a bard. It's very true that the skillset is what makes or breaks a bard, and I got really luck with mine, started with Archery, Find Weakness, and Mining.. This is also the first time, and probably the last time, I tried my hand at Smithing.

I found Serpent's Bite in the PC (I think), and used that all game until I switched to Needle and Sting. Those were some very nice daggers. Despite the untimely victory of this character, the TH team was able to win the competition regardless, so Ha!

What's a TH competition and how is TH your only talent?

You see that thread about Treasure Hunter in General Discussion? It's been around for a long time, and we had a competition at some point to settle the argument (although I think the argument is far from settled). We had two teams: TH Rocks (which I was in) and TH Sucks, each team taking a batch of random characters and see which team can score more wins. In the end, TH Rocks won, I think with 3 wins to 2. I was assigned a dwarven bard, but never finished in time. Of course, all TH Rocks chars took the talent. It isn't the only one my char had (I cut out all the other ones), but it is most relevant to the competition.

I think the TH lovers cheated in that challenge.
They made a big deal about how ~marvelous~
the talent was, then they all just chickened out
and won on technicalities. They just all took the
'alert' talent as their first talent, then chose 'miser'
and 'treasure hunter' at exp. levels 45 and 48.
Sure, they took the talent, but too late to make
any impact upon their games.
