Those scores, particularly on a dark elven beastfighter, actually speak more to me of an herb-free game so far than draining, but I could be wrong. That Wi confuses me.

I am just guessing here but you got drained to no end (thus the low St and To scores) and got careless/suicidal.

I would guess drinking an unidentified PoEX is more likely considering that some of the stats seem unusually high for a BF.

36 Wi is very easy to get. Eat morgia up to 24 stat and 25 potential. Eat mounds of morgia to get a enough training to get to 26 Wi. Equip Water Orb for +10 Wi. Doesn't seem to be very abnormal to me. The Le is a bit high for a beastfighter but if he had been reading some books and gotten a couple of crystals of knowledge, it is well within the norm.

Well you are guessing a lot, though I thought that there wouldn't be so much to guess. In fact, all went fine until that eye of destruction snatched my amulet of undead resistance. Elemental gauntlets, no, i was wearing some gauntlets of Dx+5, but they got destroyed by that karmic dragon only a little before death. I could have survived that, I did not intent to die, I had a lot of stat potions in my backpack to repair all the damage - these vault monsters drop a lot... and i felt just happy to more or less having beaten the vault. but I underestimated how weak I had become. In the beginning, an ancient karmic dragon was not really a threat, this one that killed me there was a normal one. A lot of chaos that happened then... a lich king summoned a lot of acid vortices and 2 of them exploded around me, crazily destroying items. I was just about postulating that lich kings are less annoying than master liches since the latter one summon undead, ghosts and such that surround you all the time, when this one summoned these crazy combinations... the karmic dragon of course did not care too much about the acid and was behind me, but I was so burdened all the time, and hungry too, that I got hit badly by its bolts... and I knew, that I should drink a potion or I could die, but I just thought if it happens, it might be about time. I also had not very much energie left. These undead vaults are crazy, and after all that blodshed i was not so concentrated anymore. Still, I had a really great time in there, and smashing that emperor lichs head was something i loved to do. Also it was really interesting to fight the ghost lords and getting aged, but not really caring...

about learning and herbs, no not so much, but i was lucky with stat potions and such... and the willpower, well I had to keep it up during fighting to not get confused all the time, that#s why it remained relatively high.

gut must think the elemental gauntlets reduce the corrupting effect of 'U'sing Chaos Orbs, such as the Chaos Orb of Elemental Water which heals a PC to full health.

Actually, when rethinking the happenings, gut might have a point. At least was the karmic dragon really hitting me hard, and some items of resistance could have changed this one...

in the long run, i do not think I think I only would have gotten far if I just had not played on but had break instead. So death was inevitable , since I seemed to not wanting to stop playing.

Second, I think it would have been quite possible to do the thing without any drains (not without aging though, but who cares) if played more carefully. But care is nothing a beastfighter wants to mess around with.

If I ever meet such a huge undead vault and if I ever happen to have such a mighty character at that point with the necessary abilities that this one had... I will do better, promised.

Indeed, a few resistances were missing : )
They're easy to get, for the most part. -acid from ants,
=cold from the AMW, and -fire/lit from the Elemental
Gauntlets. There's not a big difference between 1 source
and 2 sources, but between 1 and zero, yeah.

I once had a sure-game-winnin' elf wizzy die to opening
the door to a room of black dragons. No -acid was the
death of me in a single turn.

Acid can be annoyingly hard to get - few pieces of equipment grant it, and you have to be fairly lucky with corpses. Ants can drop corpses infuriatingly infrequently sometimes.

I had a character die to being frozen by opening a door to meet with a bunch of ancient white dragons. AMW was in inventory too but I wanted to wear my black dragon scale pimp coat.
